My favorite part was when Mulder called Skully and he was like "Hey Scully guess what? Skinman just called me from a bathtub." Skinner goes "Mulder it's still me." and without blinking an eye Mulder just says 'Oh, hold on.' And neither one of them seems to think anything awkward of it.

Did anyone notice that Scully got to laugh like Gillian and Mulder laughed like David in this scene. They don't really do this in any other part of the series. I think they do this on purpose in this David written and directed episode.

I think they always laugh like "them" the problem is many times we don't get to hear it. There really weren't a lot of "laughing" parts. Giggling, jesting, smiling yes but few laughing parts in the scripts. Either way they both have great laughs and the looks and smiles never get old when they are alone together. Pure Gold. Miss this show.

I don’t know if I was lucky to watch it from the very first episode or not. Not knowing how it was going to end. One episode a week. Seems so much less stressful to just binge watch the whole thing in less than a month now lol. Man. I was just a kid at the time and I loved this show. Having it back on the air briefly was like visiting a long lost brother. Sigh.

I never watched this series when it was running on TV but I have watched several times over in past years and I love this show (a true testament to it's content and chemistry when 30 years later the fan base is still growing). On several occasions I have thought about the reactions the audience must have had the week the episode first aired. I understand why people had X-Files parties.

Just watched this episode again...I loved the ending -- my guess is Mulder and Scully had dinner, took a bottle of wine back to one of their hotel rooms and made love all night! :P They're super flirty and touchy in this scene especially Scully when she tells Mulder about the company card. The hand holding basically confirms they're a couple by this point. :P

Complicated, flawed, beautiful people.....sounds like a couple of other people....I love the flirty banter between them . They know the truth already. Holding hands and giggling like school kids. How can you not love these two? I hope they used that plastic to get a room at the Hilton, eat, watch old movies like they do and then use that room for it's intended purpose...... @@elisagiambartino3483 I suppose you could take comfort when considering the possibility that the Cigarette Smoking Man may have lied as he is known to be untrustworthy and Mulder (or some alien) is still likely to be William's father Personally, I don't like the way Season 11 turned out. The finale felt rushed (especially with they way they killed off several characters) and the ending with Scully being pregnant again was laughable at best as it was a poor setup for a potential Season 12. I believe they should've spent Season 11 finally unravelling the conspiracy and maybe even stopping the alien invasion to properly complete the 25 year long show and put it to rest. But Chris Carter was only interested in indefinitely prolonging the show so that's unfortunate.

Apparently, some years after Season 9, Chris Carter was planning on making a film to be released in 2012 that would conclude the storyline but felt it was inappropriate to continue working on a show about a conspiracy theories and an untrustworthy government after 9/11 (this is also why the original run ended so abruptlying, according to Chris Carter). Instead we got the 2008 standalone film which was decent but I think fans wanted a conclusion to the main story arc. At least we have The X-Files: Albuquerque to look forward to which is an animated comedy spin-off so hopefully that will be interesting. Although, neither Gillian Anderson or David Duchovny is involved so that's unfortunate.

They joke at the end about being in love with Skinner, which I believe is there way of saying they really care for him. But secretly, Scully really does love him, but ends up choosing Mulder in the end.

I think Scully respected Skinner for his loyalty to the X Files but, I doubt she ever loved him. Once she met Mulder it was all over for her. That's why in episode #2 she doesn't say anything to Colton when he tells her if she moved to "his" unit she wouldn't have to be Mrs. Spooky anymore. She looks at him with disgust. She loves being with Mulder. He takes her places she would other wise not go and the scientist in her likes that she can't imagine being anywhere else. She knows Skinner is a good man and she loves the way he helps her with Mulder but it's not love. There is no choice for her it's Mulder all the way.

@@rogwarrior1018 I believe she loved him in her own way, but was in love with Mulder. CSM pointed out she was drawn to older men with power, most likely those who were similar to her deceased father. She was always there for Skinner when he was hurt, in the hospital, and when Mulder was gone for awhile. She kissed him once and started returning his touches. Then again, most people see it as one sided by him and he was more like a father figure instead. Still hate how it ended in Season 11 with Skinners condition unknown.
