@@GothamClive If he had been in space "for several years" that would mean that Magneto didn't find out that he was Charles' chosen successor for all that time, which seems pretty unlikely. I suspect it's a year or so at most, as anything much longer doesn't make sense.

In private, the X-Men NEVER say Charles is dead! They receive the death certificate in episode 1, which is a hard reminder that Charles is gone, maybe for good, and they miss him, and Scott has to hold the fort. We see "Xavier dead" on the news on TV, and the last will, because Charles probably won't come back, and he had a secret plan with Magnus to make him leader of Genosha. Everything felt like a dead Charlie, but they never say he's dead. They just miss him. Btw it hasn't been years, it's 97 lol. The time passed between seasons was just enough weeks to get a death certificate.

Idk if they bring back Gambit as a Death/Horseman, that they'll do the same as they did with Scarlett Witch and Vision in which they would have that character killed twice. One of the biggest things that kept throwing me off with 97 was the shading was all over the place. It would cut from a well shaded scene to one where not even the mouths are shaded with any depth and everything is just flat and it looks like I'm watching stickers move around. The only other thing I didn't enjoy was the machine gun pacing, they would burn through entire arcs in like 5 minutes flat though it's also kinda a weird achievement cause they fit like 30+ stories into a single season and that's gotta be some kinda record for compact storytelling

The Genosha genocide hits so hard considering recent world events - even though the show was written pre-October 7, it feels incredibly topical.
