I think this is the second time you've stumbled on to an actual plot line while just doing a goof. This happened in one of the movies, he was looking through Cerebro and Apocalypse saw him and just yanked control of his mind and used him to set off all the nukes.

Probably a high-level psychic as 1) Psychic Mutants are stupidly common and 2) Psychic powers are often stupidly broken as well that they're practically "magic." So at least telepathy to know he was being watched, who was watching him and where Xavier's at then teleportation to jump Charles for spying on him.
