My guess is the humans were soon to become the pests to the superior native species. Extermination was about to switch hands.

The opening and closing theme music is incredible! I can't quite determine what instruments are being used. I hear the choir and what I think are violins in the opening theme. And I hear symbols and perhaps trombones in the closing theme. Can anyone identify the rest?
