Generally I prefer the MSFS because of the graphics but it is a pity that the comparison showing mountains wasn't more similar - the X12 showed tree covered mountains and the MSFS showed snow covered mountains which was a bit unfair.

One is used as a simulator in a tv show about air accidents where data from the crash is input into the simulator for qualified pilots to try to fly and prevent the accident occurring. The other is MSFS.

Also Depends on what you're flying in a sim. MSFS has some good default planes and others that I found a bit rubbish. I have spent quite a bit of money on buying add ons for MSFS. Much as I liked X plane 11 back in the day I haven't upgraded to 12 because MSFS is my flight simulator of choice now. One thing I will say about Xplane is its less beginner friendly and encourages some learning.

I like x-plane more than MSFS. Would be nice to compare the graphics from cockpit view instead from outside, as the rain for example looks good from inside in x-plane, but not from outside. I dont care about graphics outside, more important is cockpit view.

​​​​@@waseythegray8677 That depends on the plane that you are using man. In MSFS you should get a addon plane in order to use realistic plane. If you are buying the MSFS with no intentions to buy any addon plane thats wrong choice at the start. Soo in my opinion doing a proper comparison about flight physics is near impossible. You will end up comparing addons. Soo in my opinion if you want a decent experience without spending too much X plane is the way you should go. But if you dont have any problem spending money and if you want the go all the way MSFS 2020 is the way.

they are both games or simulators. Depends the way you use them. RL pilots tried both and telling there is very little difference in the flight behavior. The scenery in MSFS is no doubt superior

Exactly. The graphics feel very cartoonish after XP12. I use 4k monitor and max settings in both sims.

On the visual side only, MSFS is gorgeous with the "real" terrain and the great textures. X-Plane 12 has an awesome lightning and atmospheric system.

What I recommend is to only use Xplane just for flight practising or so then use MSFS for the realistic scenery and stuff. Btw, the boing in MSFS 6:05 is kinda funny😆

MSFS is WAY better than X-plane in so many levels! X-plane visuals are terrible and the scenery seems like MSFS 98.

I deleted my X-Plane 11 the day after MSFS 2020 was released and I have no desire to try X-plane 12. MSFS is superior, imho, but X-Plane is going to still apeal to dedicated users. MSFS 2024 looks to be yet another advancement in flight simulation that X-Plane won't offer as it gets left behind. and it's base of users shrinks.

Who runs stock X-Plane 12? No serious X-Plane user does, you have to add tweaks (Simheaven, Ortho4XP, XShade). It's a bit like Linux, Android not Apple.

Msfs destroyed xplane in a general aspect. And people who don't want to admit it, are either xplane Fanboys, or are stuck in 2020 when msfs was only less than 1 year old. It has been 3 years since the launch and msfs has evolved a lot, both in physics and systems. The excuse of "msfs is arcade" no longer applies. If you continue with that argument you automatically imply that you have not flown in msfs beyond its launch.

@@burgadahz17 No, MSFS is below XP in many aspects. There is no doubt that XP is a better sim from an aviation-perspective. MSFS may be better for the entertainment and arcade-gamers. Apart the graphical-part it lacks a lot. And did you see? The author called you an FSfanboy.

@@burgadahz17 MSFS is lacking in almost everything except the graphical side, an overall better performance and the avionics of default-planes. The installation (no-mandatory updates), the -effects, the flight dynamics, the failures, the default airports, the night-lighting, the assigned profiles to each aircraft, the zoom and camera are better in XP. MSFS also doesn’t have a plane-maker allowing to test our own aircraft against the aerodynamics.

Great comparison video and I think is fair, yes you can enhance snow?, scenary, rain and lighting in both XP11 & XP12 using 3rd party addons, but this video shows hoe far And the XP fan boy community will tell you XP created by a company with a real pilot. However its the same for Asobo, plus MSFS2020 has lighting, weather, storms, clouds and fantastic scenary right out of the box. And can run you sim with high to ultra setting on a 2080 or 3060 GPU and above. Where XP11&12 still struggles with this. For me XP12 didn't offer enough when it was released and MSFS2020 gave me all I crave inc almost study level aircraft, under £60-70. So my own hat is firmly in the Asbo camp and let's see what MSFS2024 brings.
