I was at that game in the south end zone of Tiger Stadium. It was a well-played, largely error-less ball game on both sides. Mike Miley, the LSU quarterback, was highly poised all night long. He went on to play major-league baseball, and one of New Orleans' finest baseball diamonds was named for him. He died in his twenties, I believe,in a car wreck south of LSU. Tiger Stadium that night was subdued. Alabama controlled the game, winning by maybe three touchdowns. Bear marched off the field with about four policemen bracketing him, towards the main east entrance, going away from us "like a big cat." Alabama won the AP national championship with an undefeated season and then lost the UP vote losing to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl by a point, I believe it was.

Alabama beat LSU 21-7......by 2 touchdowns. 'Bama won the UPI national title in 1973.......not the AP.

“Three men right in his moustache… Charlie given me some signals there” This Man was brilliant & hilarious. He was low key 🔐 making a reference/joke to King Charles 1. Known as a “Vow-beard”.

Alabama has come a long way. Most of these people would have a heart attack knowing blacks play for and dominate Alabama football now.

What people? This is about 1978. Blacks were all over the SEC. If, by these people, you mean people alive back then and, say, middle aged then would be 80-85 now and would've seen increase in black players over the next 20-40 years, depending on how long they lived.
