X4 Foundations: What the Raptor was made for

Hello everybody,
After my latest experience with the Shark, I said I wil be going back to the Raptor for solo carrier gameplay. So, once again me and my Raptor against the universe. As faith will have it, a large group of xenon small fry gave me on oportunity to showcase what the Raptor does best...fly swatting. :D
Note:
- I wanted to activate the turrets late for dramatic effect and that cost me some dmg to the turrets, that was an upsie on my part. :)

Quite Sick, I'm a returning player, your one Raptor is doing a better job running that blockade than I managed with 4 or 5 Behemoths, Very Cool. Going to have to look into getting my hands on one this playthrough.

Yeah, the Raptor is an AA beast and have enough L turrets to put plasma on and roleplay a destroyer, but in order to have a true "fire and forget" weapons platform, it needs its fighters. For that reason, I would say that prior of securing a Raptor, I would make sure to have the capability of churning out fighters. So, steal and cheat all you can, to get your hands on that S/M ship production module BP, slap it on your HQ (also, if you will want split fighters, stock up on those engine parts factories, you will need them), and start making fighters.😉

I just yesterday sent my Reptor against Khaak Installation, alone, and took him about 4 min to take it all alone but I do use Plasma and Flakes also Teran Shields so there was no damage at all. My game is a little too big and has too many operation ships fabs and so much and still is going just amazing, I honestly wonder how this complex game even runs on one PC, with all this complexity, I own about 4000 ships and 90% of them are working for on fabs

i loved x3 terran conflict, but carrier controling and fab/complex building was major pain in the ass... was that fixed in x4?

Awesome. How many hours is your save file and total game time across playthroughs?

My current save is day 52 terran cadet start. I have saves from a day 62 young cadet start, and I have a my own version of budgeted start, a save file from day 15 terran cadet from the first time I've filled my Raptor with 100 Chimeras (just in case I wiped out the xenon). In total, steam says I have 4.4 k hours in X4. 🤓

I'm on full vanilla club 😋. Also, the cool mods like VRO require a new start, and I don't start over often. But this one is "winking" on me: www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/1240 😉

I gave the cool looking Pulsar a chance (again) in one of my carriers. Fitted with the best modules from Split and Terrans i made a group of heavy Torpedos another with Plasma and a group of Beam Laser against XL/L and fighter. I was surprised that they survived (mostly) explosions of K's, but i still have to try it agsinst I's.

I would not call the Pulsar as cool looking. 🧐 Now, Quasars on the other hand 😉. Not my style, but I'm curious if I can obtain some decent stats by mixing tech, maybe on par with Eclipse.🤔 Edit: the best Quasar can obtain is: hull 1.700 shield 1.488, speed 340 with terran shields and split engines, what a piece of sh... In comparison, the Eclipse have hull 4.000 shield 2.822 with argon tech.

Sadly doesn't work against Vigor horde even with some turrets set to laser and anti-missile defense. 😡

Yeah, I would not count on turrets for anti-missile defense, I don't think I ever seen turrets on my ships intercept a single missile/torpedo. Tho, I do see sometimes xenon Ks turrets shoot down some torpedoes. Once again, xenon ships get the good AI. 🤨😋

@@ragnos28 laser turrets are shooting down torpedos. But with that mess I've seen its hard to tell if it wasn't enough anti-missile turrets or there is bad target switching script since there is some weird delay before I see new beams.

@@Army_of_Earth Yeah, experienced the same delay with the Ray main battery, really annoying, luckly I don't tend to use the damn thing that often.

​@@Army_of_Earth, try a lot of Laser Turrets Mk2 around your fleet (100-200). And your fleet will be fine.

@@egoaut I'd better bring 4 Asgards with 4 flak Jians on top and OOS. It should solve issue entirely (at least worked in v5.xx). Whole ranting is about Vigor being too specific faction and not really suitable anti-missile defense.
