You could put the drop pedal in front of the tuner. That way you can check if you got the tuning correct. Especially if you have to change the settings in a live situation
@stevenbazan9681Ай бұрын
i do that to in the front to chk the tuning
@todd-1Ай бұрын
^^ this is the way!
@stug5041Ай бұрын
You’d lose the buffer out front though
@J22-Ай бұрын
no the drop always goes first so you can tune in standard or drop D and just pitch shift down

That’s exactly what I do..

Cool to see you using the QC Nano. I travel for work, got one recently and I'm loving it. Compact, simple, plugs right into a laptop both for power and as an interface. I'm a digital noob and even I can use it.

One thing after watching this video, I can say is although I'm notba fan of the nano cortex when it came out, i can appreciate the fact that It'll encourage people to buy pedals again. Collecting pedals is such a fun hobby that I'll miss now that i own a quad cortex. You can get a full sounding rig while being on a budget
@paulcarter105Ай бұрын
I think you should definitely do more of that ambient rebea style stuff

Finally pulled the trigger on a QC, super excited for it to come in. Part of that is thanks to your videos so thanks for all the content on these

Cool and practical pedal board which covers all the basic stuff you need ! I have had a Boss tuner pedal for over twenty years now and it is still working fine 😆
@charlesb7831Ай бұрын
I love my Digitech Drop pedal. One thing, I got away from the Boss tuners, I preferred the Peterson strobostomp , you can turn the buffer on and off, and is just easier to read for me, and use it for tech work. My other pedalboard has a Polytune and is a great tuner as well, again easier to read. This pedalboard looks great, would love to try something like that!

Funny enough, I’ve actually just put together a small Nano Cortex (bass) board for fly gigs 😅 Needs a wee bit of tweaking tho :)
@jessehoopes7042Ай бұрын
The boss tuner is the best tuner it works all the time always. One time I was playing outside in the day time and I couldn't see it to well because of the sunlight but i think there is a setting that brightens the lights but I haven't had to worry about that for a while now. I just grabbed one of the drop pedals as well just starting to have fun with that, I really like the small pedal board set up .

My suggestion would be ...replace the Boss Tuner with a T.C.Poly tune 2 ...mount it horizontal above the Boss Tuner and gain an extra pedal space if needed...

Switch up the cables on the board for the EBS flat patch gold. Way better for compact setups

Hi! Xander! Which power amp do you use (if so) to drive your speakers live or in rehearsals? any recomendation to power the Nano cortex for band rehearsals and small gigs? Thanx and congats for your content!

Could you do a video of how you record the sound in your videos, like do you have a mic pointing at a cab or use a mic plugged into your camera?

What brand of pedalboard is that brother?…. I need me one of those. I’ve just got done with building & painting my own (hand made) pedalboard and it’s got the EVH theme. Just like your BC Rich Warlock. That Jeff Loomis Devil’s Triad is very similar to Glenn Fricker’s Revv Nortern Mauler and both are pretty siiiick pedals. I wish that I had bought the Digitech Drop pedal when I got my Cry-baby From Hell. That’s what I have to start my board., and into my tuner; Dime Distortion; MXR 6 Ban-EQ; OD pedal; TC Electronics Sentry Noise-Gate(4 cable method); and at the end of my board is the “CHUG” pedal…. Just in case I decide not to use everything else,lol.! Oh yeah, my tuner is actually the 1st pedal on my board.!….. lol 😂. I just didn’t want to go back and edit this comment. Sorry X! That’s an awesome setup you got there bro!, and it sounds incredible! I’m excited for you too mate…… Cheer’s 🥂!! TY for sharing X., and your talents and thoughts are always appreciated.! 🤘🏻😎👍🏻🔥Until next time….. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff⚡️!!

How do those Gator patch cables compare to MXR? They look damn near identical. I've used the MXR for a minute now, but always on the lookout for options.

Isn’t just taking the Quad Cortex smaller and does more?
@noodlehair6566Ай бұрын
my thoughts exactly. the QC is small enough on it's own
@camdaman93Ай бұрын
I’ve never understood the thought process of building a fly board when the QC, HX stomp, Etc all do what a pedal board does and is smaller… this seems unnecessary 🤷♂️
@SOADGODАй бұрын
Did you need to use another power supply for the drop. I just got one but when i tried to use my MXR Iso brick it would barely work at all. when i pluged it in, with its own power supply then it worked fine. So what is your work around with it.
@scottnorton5670Ай бұрын
Nah. You just need to use a 9v 300mA port on your power supply
@bthompson1229Ай бұрын
Not pedal related, but your dean made me think of it. If tuning stability, intonation, or string gauge compatibility were not issues, do you have a preference for scale length as far as best feel while playing?
@timolebeck6405Ай бұрын
Why not just use a Pod Go or HX Stomp XL and have everything in one unit?^^

For ME some of the switches are way to close to each other. I could never manage to handle them mounted like that. Especially not in a live situation and with shoes on.

From what I've seen on the NanoCortex its just a high priced amp capturer & from what I've heard the Tonex does the same thing for half the price. The Nano just seems like a cash grab for the DSL or whatever they're called?

Has anyone tried the Nano cortex with multiple pedals using the boss es-8 to switch the pedals and midi for the Nano cortex?
