Try to aim for as many enemies as you can at a distance (mainly for the Artificial Chaos). No need to rush. Take as long as you need to. In the areas where you are on like a conveyor belt (?) kind of vehicle, just keep pressing B/square/etc. I found that to be great in raking up serious points. I totally get it and I speak from experience. I SERIOUSLY hate them.

I have officially gotten an A rank on every single stage (except green hill) until now. When I got 90000 my first try, I thought everything was hunkey Dorey, but when that B came one screen, I went from hero to zero. This stage isn't that hard, but it has given me the most trouble to A rank. Thanks for these videos anyway. They've helped me when I've been stumped. Okay, this is quickly becoming my favorite stage not only because of the music, but how the level plays out. And I love how long this thing is as well when you try to get maximum amounts of combos which makes it super duper easy! Also this really captures my insanity of being encapsulated in a virtual reality futuristic universe! Oh! And I really want this to be in the next Sonic movie where we show the badassery side of Eggman, Sonic, and Shadow and they have an epic showdown! Like seriously! Who can keep this madness alive?

Kitty it's not as simple as that. When you got hit while shooting an 10 or 11 combo you won't get the 1.5/2k points, which makes it much harder to get an A.

there is a simple answer to this believe it or not. it's those pod things. when you shoot them, for each frame even just a piece of them is on the screen, your score goes up A LOT. it's weird but that's just how they were coded.

Looks like they were doing a ton of small combos in an effort to rack up more combo points. Notice all the "Nice" combos they get in that short span just before leaving to the drill chase. There's at least a dozen of those big energy pod looking things to shoot in the span of 7 seconds.

I just got the A rank for the hard mode, and my god was it a terrible experience for me; I think I spent over an hour getting it. I love Cosmic Wall too (in fact, it's my favorite mech shooting level), and I can get the A rank in the normal version just fine, but here, it is hell. I'm just glad I finally got it.

I got A Rank with 77000 on Dreamcast. Like Mission 4, A Rank is 75000 here on DC. Finished with like 75103 and again with like 74000 to confirm. It's hard to deliberate get specific scores like that to confirm

Nerdy George Washington I had way more trouble with Weapons Bed Hard Mode. Those damn Gun Hawks are the bane of my existence. Once you figure out you don’t have to string together your combos on the shooting gallerys, this level becomes way easier.

This is the last A rank I need, but I still need the dark chao race one to finish them off for good. Does anybody know if you can make a hero chao neutral, or even dark without harming it's stats. Even if they are, will it still be strong enough to win the races with one go?

The only way is to reincarnate it so it can become another aligment. I always suggest raising a very good neutral Chao so you can participate in both races with it.

If you know the barrel trick to this stage, you can rack up points like crazy. My highest score is over 160,000. Edit: also the despawning trick.

@@spongehub8246 Once you lock on to several objects for bonus points, fire your homing missles, then IMMEDIATELY move backwards so that the objects will dissappear before they're destroyed. You'll get the proper bonus based off of your lock-on combo, then moving close will respawn the objects again and you can repeat it. You have to be very precise when determining the proper distance for the objects appearing and disappearing, so you don't mess up your combo or destroy them. The trick only works on the green and orange objects though. If you do it on enemies they won't respawn.

Same. This was the only level I could not get an A rank on as a kid. I've now found out why from the comments on this KZbin video. For some reason, the cylindrical turret things in this level give 20 points each frame that the debris is on screen after being destroyed. For every full second they remain on the screen dead, you gain 1,200 points. This is PER TURRET. It completely goes against every other level's condition of gaining points via getting longer combos. Your best bet at these sections is to fire off a missile AS SOON AS you lock onto one of those things. I was stuck at 96-98k going through the entire level with almost nothing but perfects and extreme combos. I did this strat and ended the run with 135k points ._. It's incredibly unintuitive since there's nothing that would indicate these things work this way at all.
