In 1998, Xenogears was released, beginning the story of the man who would stand tall and shake the heavens. After 25 years, that story has finally come full circle in a way that very few other series have managed to do before or since then.
This isn't so much a "review" of Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed, as it is an exploration and discussion of a select few themes found in Future Redeemed. This video is dedicated to all the phenomenal A fans out there.

The entire time you're playing through future redeemed, you're constantly creating connections and context to events that you've seen in the base game and creating a richer tapestry to not only the events of XC3, but to the series as a whole. Because my time and money always ends up elsewhere instead of retail video games and their expansions like the Xeno’ series, I’ve only ever experienced them through “media osmosis”, if you will, just taking in the breadth of analyses and cutscenes that I see online. Even still, I find that even having so much of their wide strokes being spoiled to me doesn’t dissuade me from ever eventually picking these games up for myself. From what I gleam of their stories, the Xenoblade trilogy looks so full of life, character, and themes that all touch and at times resonate with some struggles that I may face from time to time, and seeing how the characters in these games face such trials and tribulations feels awe inspiring to witness even from this bird’s eye view of mine. I’ll definitely find the time to one day go through each game of the trilogy and their extended pieces of content, but for now, I will continue to remember what lessons that I have learned from these expertly crafted stories that have more than earned their respect and renown.

Here's my order to play them in 1>2 (do trona right after chapter 6 of 2) > future connected from 1>3 > future redeemed and before future redeemed go watch all xenosaga games as movie or something if they don't have remakes by the time you play them, because they are dated and impossible to play unless you really want to emulate them or something (gameplay isn't as good as xenoblade though so eh)

​​@@Nexsus2164 The Xenosaga part it's quite equivocate, we still don't know if Saga is truly canon to Xenoblade yet, i'd rather recommend playing Xenosaga afther beating FR but not expecting it to connect with XC4 but just to experience those games too. I'd also recommend Xenogears, it has absolutely no connection to Xenoblade but the story is AMAZING and it's even better than Xenoblade in a lot of the aspects from the story. Edit: I'm not saying Saga has no connection to Blade, afther FR probably it has, but playing all of the games expecting it to be part of Xenoblade before FR is not really necessary so far, i'd recommend playing afther FR

This game and the dlc took me over a year to complete. As a dad to a young child I feel my priorities are in order. However I can tell you this game while being played in pieces spanning from its release to having just finished future redeemed this week was incredible. I think most games I would have given up on, or moved on from.

great video! i really admire how despite bringing back past characters, FR still centers its thematic core on the characters most tied to base 3. it shows admirable restraint. also, reread matthews founder statue, the end isnt where he goes off forever! he does actually come back after that, thankfully.

As someone who seemed to enjoy Future Redeem as much as you had all I can say is...Phenomenal Job Joking aside im glad to see this DLC talked about in such a way that I've been trying to convey for months and even more than I ever could have. As someone who has called themselves a "Xeno" fan for at least 15+ years of their life this DLC did everything I hopped it did and then some. And easily solidified me calling XC3 possibly my favorite RPG of all time with that previously belonging to XC 1 (Although I think Nostalgia will always win in the end haha). And it makes me wanna go back and do what I couldn't do as a highschool student, That being finishing the Xenosaga trilogy as I never owned 3. Luckily soon this will be remedied as me and a friend plan on trekking through that series and hopefully with hindsight it'll make the journey even more fun that it would have been all those years ago Thanks for the amazing video. Really great to hear someone just gush about why this was just so rad. Amazing job!

After playing FR, I immediately went back to play and just recently beat Xenogears. I was blown away by the depth of that game, it had no business being so dense with quality characters/themes Now I'm on Xenosaga Episode I and i can tell it's gonna be a wild ride...

Like many others have pointed out, amazing video. The content you produce is really high quality in terms of storytelling, editing and mic quality. From my point of view you have a lot of potential to hit it big if you keep it up. However what I think you're lacking a bit are titles and thumbnails that really help draw in more people. If you want a longer explanation as to what I mean by that and what I think is lacking in the titles and thumbnails I'll gladly provide it, I just don't want to come off as some know-it-all telling you what to do while not being a youtuber myself. With that said I have no doubts in my mind that you will grow on your own if you just keep this up since the content is lit as fuck.

I think xc3 works as a game on its own and story. You don’t need to know the specifics of how things happened for three to work just that they did. But fr helps connect the story more to xc 1 and 2

Yeah but it's kind of weird now for pepole getting into the series, they will ask "do I gotta play them in order?" Then I gotta say "no,but yes?" LOL. I would never recommend someone play 3 first, meanwhile you can play 2 first but it kind of impacts your view of 1 ,but oh don't play Future connected right after 1 and play 2 because it paces out the themes more AND don't forget to stop in RIGHT AS CHAPTER 6 ENDS in Xenoblade 2 to go play torna firat and to get the full narrative gut punch in chapter 9 😂.

great video, but personally i think future redeemed still left a few too many questions unanswered. for example: - we still dont know what the fog king is - we still dont know exactly how melia and nia and the two worlds got in contact beyond just 'light' - we still don't know how noah and mio were continually reborn beyond homecoming when this should be impossible - who tf are X and Y and many more still love future redeemed though!

- The Fogbeasts are cleary going to be relevant for the next saga, and they are extremely similiar to Gnosis from Xenosaga - idk but there is an explanation that both worlds wanted to merge with each other again but they had different materias that would end up making each other be destroyed in the process - They were probably born of M and N's regrets. Noah and Mio always were special in the cycle of reincarnation as Z points out in the base game, so their regrets probably gave form to the heroes of the base game which by luck/fate met each other and became Ouroboros - X and Y are the original Moebius alongside Z. They were born of humanity's fears of the incursion when the worlds were about to collide.

The only part I disagree is the non censored xenosaga. The censored version is the best for xenosaga 1 just because Albedo. No more siriously I would kill to play gears and saga. I tried emulation but my computer wasn't that powerfull and can't use it without crashing. I had no choice but to whatch let's play on KZbin... But what a game🤧

While this video is very well done and you did such a great job explaining everything, I still just couldn't enjoy the storytelling and writing of this expansion and the 3rd game. It felt like Takahashi just started to get lazy in that department. It's a shame because these games don't hold a candle at Xenogears, xenosaga and even xenoblade 1 in terms of storytelling and writing. 3 and the expansion's writing just feels.... off, causing me to feel disconnected from the lore at this point.
