i think i've gained a newfound respect for The Land of Morytha. it was always a great and perfect song for where it plays but this was the first time i actually heard the song outside of the game

Yeah that’s why I requested it. It’s actually one of the most profoundly powerful, eerie and beautiful tracks in the game, especially when you listen to it isolated and catch all the nuance.

In-game, in most of the world where The Land of Morytha song plays is blent with very noisy thundery weather sound effects. So, it is great to listen to it here, clean.

Kingdom of Uraya is honestly my favorite area theme in any JRPG. Xenoblade 2 knocks it out of the park with all of it's area themes really but Uraya is a standout, both visually and musically.

It's not often you get music that can be described as the instruments crying, but Morytha fits the bill perfectly. Those longing pained cries of the strings perfectly create the image the song wants from you. Also the vocals to further add for that feeling of longing like SOMETHING is missing.

as someone who plays both pc and switch games i do understand the frustration about the a/b/x/y buttons being swapped, but nintendo had this layout since the snes and kept it the same in all their non-quirky controllers layouts, its really microsoft who we should blame for this thankfully both steam and the switch allows you to remap your controller in the settings

The land of morytha is my favorite place in all the serie, the story behind it, the music and just everything behind it is just so perfect, because of this place i finish xenoblade 2 and i play all of the other games to see what else this wonderfull games had

I didn't realize the Xeno community got you your switch, that's awesome. Glad you're enjoying the games, they are easily some of my absolute favorite ever, well above most RPGs and that is a very high bar to clear. Can't really say much about Morytha without massive spoilers, suffice to say you will go there much later in the story and it is something to look forward to.

@@junsoo3735eh I don’t think it’s just the “beginning” that’s rough. Unfortunately the entire game is riddled it small but annoying technical issues like slow loading, confusing combat (extremely fun but overwhelming early on without much explanation, and bad tutorials don’t help) and an inconsistent English VA performance that doesn’t match the lip flaps which is immersion breaking and makes some scenes seem goofier than intended. I’m personally a big supporter of playing all of my games with English VA, but XC2 is one of the few that I think it’s better to just do the JP dub.

*MASSIVE SPOILERS DO NOT READ FURTHER UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME* The fact this plays on the ruined remains of planet earth is so appropriate, this song is like a funeral dirge for a land destroyed by tragedy, our world. Also, there is an enemy type in this area known as a “guldo”. We find out later that these creatures are what became of all the humans left on earth. The creepiest saddest part? If you look around the environment, the guldos can be found along routes, or inside of areas of refuge and emergency escape routes. They were trying to escape and evacuate as the world fell. And you can see them huddling motionless, or even looking up into the sky staring, hoping, waiting for help that never came. Amazing environmental storytelling

SPOILERS (Sort of) You know, the thoughts Jesse had while and after hearing Morytha are so ironic, because they fit so perfectly into the overall theme at that point in the story. The fact that this track evoked those thoughts in him shows how effing good it is

The Xeno series is heavily based on Greek Gnostic mythology and uses a lot of Greek and Latin words. The localization of XC2 kinda loses a bit of symbology because the names of the titans in the Japanese version are the latin words for the seven deadly sins (Argentum = Avaricia = Greed)(Uraya = Invidia = Envy). Morytha is a place that didn't have its name changed, but the localization mangled the transliteration of the Japanese spelling of the Latin word. It should be the Land of Mors.

@Varindran yeah alot of Xenoblade music hits differently with the scenery. Imagine Walking With You or Tomorrow with You without watching the cutscenes first.

@@ndozer9 I mean, as an avid Xenoblade 2 defender, the tutorials are downright atrocious. There are only 3 things I can complain about in Xenoblade 2. The tutorials, the map navigation and the use of field skills. Some people may also complain about the gacha mechanic, which I personally don't have a problem with. Point is, the tutorials are universally agreed on to be garbage and since he's not taking hints from anyone, he's struggling because of it.

Maybe it was just a different time back in 2017, or playing DE first, since it has added QoL. I did find XB3's tutorials annoying, like they went overboard due to the feedback from 2, but not to the point of rage quitting.

He said learning things without anyones help is fun, but when you can't figure it out because the game doesn't explain it properly and it sours your experience, why not just look it up? It's no different than a better tutorial, just done by the community in my opinion. There are spoiler free guides and I wonder why no one has shown him that yet. Or maybe he doesn't want even that. He has so many questions that will take him ages to figure out. The worst thing in the new video in my opinion was when he had no gold for Cylinders and kept selling collectables to an informant when there's a trade center legit 2m next to the salvage vendor. I know he just forgot, but it was still hard to watch.
