Great review again, but can you confirm Note 10 and Mi 10 uses the same sensor? I've heard Note 10 uses ISOCELL bright HMX(limited to 6k) and Mi 10 uses the new HM1 sensor.

Really everywhere I read it's the HMX and only Samsung are using the best 108MP version the HM1. It does say Ai 8k, must be upscaled from 6k to 8k cheeky Xiaomi!

I still use this one as my main phone. Battery life is getting worse now after 2 years. But great phone!! Might get a new battery and rock on, but probably will end up with a new phone. I love tech. Oh yeah, the haptic feedback and stereo speakers are superb on this phone. Hope the 2022 phones are this kind of level 👍🏻

Update: still have it and its still absolutely amazing! Miui is really smooth now with no bugs at all as well which is very nice. The processor is still blazing fast, the display impresses me every single time I turn my phone on, and I have no plans of upgrading for at least a couple of years. Amazing underrated phone!

No video out is a disappointment for someone used to it in other manufacturers. The bad thing is that the k30 Pro with the pop up camera (which was a candidate for next phone because of the full screen experience) eventually won't have it as well... 😒 And, great video as usual. What I noticed on the video side, here the colors are not as exposed as in other reviews. In fact, everything looks much better. think you're wrong about the chipset comment.Compared to the 855,this 865 is a big upgrade,especially in gaming.855 tends to heat sometimes,stutter occasionally when playing long sessions of demanding games and is around 110k points behind the 865.855+ is still 50k points also.

I'm thinking between Oneplus 7 pro and Mi10. In one hand we have better SOC with MI 10, but in other hand we have better OS with Oneplus, and particularly I don't like Miui. So, I'll wait for new oneplus 8 releases and hope for lower prices for oneplus 7 pro, in same way I will wait for international mi 10 and good prices after this initial sales

An S20 costs $1350 AUD ($2k for S20 Ultra), this costs only $900~ despite also having 108MP, SD865, and 8-12GB RAM. Samsung isn't competitive anymore, they're becoming more and more like Apple these days. Unfortunately, 5G isn't really useful in Australia considering 99.9% of the country doesn't have it.

The reason why front camera probably doesn't have EIS is because it has to crop the image and in essence zoom in on the face. the thing is , you can't put your phone further away from your face than your arm allows. So , for selfie EIS you have to have a wide angle lens as a must imo... EDIT: Still , an on-off option would be nice...

A key differentiator for Android phones nowadays is the timeliness of Android OS upgrades and Monthly Security Updates. This is an area where most Android OEMs stumble. Equally important, how long will an Android OEM support their phones for. For example 2 years? Most elderly folks don’t want to replace a $600+ phone every two or three years. The latter area is why some folks choose iOS over Android.

Great review. Good to hear they finally solved the mic recording problem. One thing that would concern me if I was purchasing is the screen. They have different screen suppliers so the quality may not be consistent. Samsung is supplying some with a Chinese supplier supplying the others. Wonder if you got a Samsung one

This is not a problem ... It is known that Xiaomi invested a lot of money together with TLC to develop quality displays. For this reason, I think all phones in the Mi 10 series actually have screens produced by TLC.
