I think the Mi 8 is a tad bit better than OnePlus 6. I love the hardware face unlock which gives it the edge. The speed won't be an issue at all on both of them. God, both these devices are so similar. Well just between MIUI and Oxygen OS i'm leaning towards Oxygen OS more, but yeah slapping on Nova Launcher on both of'em would make for a better experience. I guess anyone who buys any one of these devices would be happy with it.

You didn't mention that mi8 lacks 3.5 mm audio jack. Anyway i would go for one plus 6 without any doubt. Because : 1)U can install miui rom on one plus devices but can't install oxygen os on mi devices. 2) nothing comes close to dash charge 3) oxygen os without any garbage 4) ois + eis (amazing video stabilization) 5) one device at a time ( updates on priority) 6) 2 yr software update and 3 yr security updates. 7) alert slider rocks 8) finally op6 not apple copy(like mi 8). 9 ) small notch Mi 8 is good but can't knock out OP6
