Hi HDTVTest, I've this projector and when I activate 3D the screen turns green, is this how it's supposed to be? All my 3d glasses don't work with this green "tint" is it a problem of my unit or I need different glasses? I have the old version and 3D effect was made with some red color tint, and all the grasses works fine. Thank you

Hi Vincent - how does the Xiaomi Mijia compare to something like the Optoma GT5000+? Despite the limitations of the projector set out in your review would it be a worthwhile upgrade over my 1080p lamp based projector, or will I be disappointed in terms of brightness, colour accuracy and motion handling? I will primarily be using it to watch 4k uhd and blu rays, Sky Q (via a Sky Q mini box) and Netflix and Amazon Prime via a 4k FireTV stick.

Is there a sleep mode in this projector? Mine switches to screensaver mode after a minute or so as expected but the lamp never automatically turns completely off even after an entire night. Is there a way to make the lamp switch off automatically?

it doesn't appear that this projector can use internal apps (youtube, netlix, or any other) to stream 4k hdr, instead the gui and any streaming app is capped at 1080p.... in order to get 4k hdr you need to supply a feed from an external source (bluray player, htpc, nvidia shield, etc.) via an hdmi input... do i have this right? if so, isn't that pretty weak, i mean why have a tv launcher app installed on a 4k hdr projector if internal apps can't be streamed in 4k hdr?

Be great if you could review this with a PET Crystal screen, seems to make the picture so much better even with strong ambient light sources. Hopefully the next version they fix some of the issues you've stated, such as refresh rate, input lag and HDR.

I wouldn't think so. Non UST projectors have to have a special lens and there's no way to change the optics on a ust.

Would it be possible to see a review for the Wowoto S6A? It's another budget option for Ultra Short Throw Projectors. Only one detailed review on KZbin right now. Price point is $700 on Amazon and around $815 on GearBest. Would be great to see a review! I'm currently debating on whether the Wemax One Pro is worth extra money compared to the original Xiaomi 1080P Laser Projector. I know you made a video comparing the two but your thoughts would be greatly appreciated since you've used both units!

Vincent, great review, thanks. On Blu-ray 3D, try 'Move up or down' instead of 'Fit to frame'. With my unit, colors look right this way. But, I'm using a Zidoo Z9S (not a Blu-ray player) as my source, and the Xiaomi sees the 3D signal as full TAB (two 1080p images on top of each other). Also, for 4K@60, please try the Sony 'Camp' clip. I'm getting minor (but noticeable) jaggies. 23.976 material, all player-upscaled to 4K look smooth to me though, and HDR colors also look fairly solid. I'm comparing to my Optoma UHD51A.

Hi, how do the 3d glasses work with the Mijia projector? I have a set of four Optoma ZF2300 glasses which I use with my GT5000+ but it has a separate emitter that you plug in to the projector.

@@buhidef I did. I ordered the UHD51ALV since it has 3000 lumens as opposed to the 2400 in the UHD51A. Also I read that the Xiaomi removed the 3D feature in the latest update. Optoma is the way to go since you want the bright picture for 3D. The concept of the Xiaomi Mijia 4k is a good concept tho.

Argh! I have been watching your videos for a long time and I love them. I finally plunked down some serious duckets to purchase this TV and a PET crystal (NOT GRID!) screen, but unfortunately this happened before I saw this video, otherwise, I would have purchased through your link!!
