2016 F-150 3.5 ecoboost UPR Dual Valve Catch Can Install Walk-through

I just bought my eco in October 2016, it's got about 14K miles. I understand the logic of installing a C/C, but my question...., does installing place me at risk of voiding my Powertrain Warranty with Ford? Would this be considered an unauthorized modification to the vehicle's engine? Appreciate any feedback/comments.

Did you take the check valve out of your factory pvc valve cover or leave it in?

How did you get the sensor on the clean side connector apart without screwing it up? I have not done it yet ?

Thanks for the quick turnaround, the sensor that is on the clean side where it goes into the turbo inlet.

stankatz01 I don't think I actually Disturbed that sensor in the insulation. The UPR kit has the new sensor installed in the hose. So there's nothing to really damage.

The connection is the electrical plug which you have to disconnect to attach to the new hose assembly,

Whats the purpose of the clean side can. do you drain it as well

The purpose is to catch the last of any remaining oil before it re-enters the engine. It doesn't have a drain like the primary tank, but it has the ability to be unscrewed and emptied.

what model is this i cant find one that shows that it hooks up to the airbox and the hole you made for the turbo? reason i ask is i just bought the upr monster catch can and there is nothing in my box that requires me to drill holes?

as far as i know there is only once type of model for the upr system. there is an RX Monster catch can that has some drilling required, but as far as i know there isn't a system available that is completely drill free

Gentry not sure about that one. Its for the 2011-14 models. I bought mine directly from UPR. I'm sure there's some differences between the models, but not sure what exactly

ford research and development should have caught the excessive blowby under boost conditions. ford messed up.

don't need a catch can on the 15 o r newer f-150 ...they fixed that problem that was affecting the 11 to 14 ecoboost f-150.

Well i just emptied it after 1500 miles and i'd say they got most of it. However i caught 5-6oz of Gas/Oil Nastiness that didn't go into my intake, and when you multiply that over the life of the vehicle that equals less potentials

I have been wondering about doing this to my 2016 3.5l. Can you explain a bit more on how they fixed the problem? I want my new truck to last as long as possible and this seams to be one of the biggest issues with the trucks. I would much prefer not to add the catch can if I can avoid it and not have any issues. Thank you!

Jeff Schade no need to get a catch can bro...ive talked to 3 ford techs about my 16 f-150 limited with the ecoboost in it and it's only for the year 2011 to 14...just a cash grab
