Ok, i might get emotional on this one but here we go. This game absolutely got me through most of the important parts in my life. I was 16 when it released, just finished high school and had no of what i was going to do with my life. I was raised by my mother and grandma as my dad had no interest in me, so it was kinda difficult sometimes. I used to find that fitting in was very hard, as i didn't have any friends because i was way too shy to interact with people. Since i played The Witcher 3 for the first time, a lot has changed for me. I can't say if the game had any sort of impact on me that was enough for me to change my personality somehow, all i know is that it has been on my life since this change started. I'm now married, managed to buy a house, got a PS5, gaming PC, a car... I've managed to conquer all of these things whilst playing The Witcher 3 at least once per year. It has been and It will always be my favorite game due to how deep, complex, relaxing and melancholic it is. Also, not only the game has been with me but your channel too. Been a longtime sub and watching your content for years aswell, wich is something that always made me feel like i was part of this community, with people that love The Witcher as much as myself. Anyway, i just want to wrap this up by saying thank you The Witcher, and thank you xLetalis for your content and helping me somehow. PS: i'm Brazilian so commenting in english is tough sometimes, if anyone reads this comment i'm sorry if i made any mistakes 😅

One spot in Velen where you can find a couple of tree logs with coin is near the hanged man tree, there is the remains of a battlefield, some ghouls around too. I remember another in the Village of crookback bog, the place you find the crones, you can see a log just by the fast travel sign. As a massive fan of Arthurian Legends, I can tell you- The sword in the stone and Excalibur are not the same blades. The sword in the stone is sometimes called "Caliburn", and is given to the Lady in the Lake after Arthur takes it out of the stone and is recognized for taking it out of the stone by the people. Excalibur also is notably different to Caliburn for the fact it has a scabbard, which itself is also magical and very important in many Arthurian stories. In some stories, Caliburn is just a simple sword with no magical powers, more recognized for its importance, not for any power it may possess. I'd also like the mention that the sword Geralt gets from the Lady of the Lake, Aerondight, is similar in name to the sword "Arondight", being Lancelot's sword.

That scar on Vlodimir's head is probably from how he got killed after Olgierd wished that his brother died
@jhonbus4 ай бұрын
Yep, he got his skull bashed in. I started wondering whether the story takes inspiration from the story of Cain and Abel, because in some versions of that (more the Jewish and Muslim rather than Christian ones) it's said that Cain kills Abel by bashing him on the head with a stone, after being persuaded by the Devil. But I'm not convinced that was the intent, it's a pretty vague similarity, and I'd expect them to include more details like having the reason for the murder be jealousy, and have a similar punishment.
@juniorhernandez33473 ай бұрын
Olgeird didn’t wish for him to die. The man who was trapped in the “protective” circle revealed to Geralt that Vlodimirs death was a result of an indirect act from his brother. It wasn’t something he wished for, it was something that was sacrificed for him beyond his control.

"The cake is a lie" is indeed from Portal. The villain, during the early stages of the game before outing herself as a villain, repeatedly offers cake as an incentive for completing her tests. At some point you pass through disused back areas where grafitti tells you "The cake is a lie," as a hint that the villain isn't what she appears to be. Regarding the back of Vlodimir's head, I'm pretty sure it's the wound that killed him. He mentions them "crushing his head like an egg."

In terms of the Glagolitic inscriptions reading 'dirty sl*ts' and 'mind the gap' these are commonly reused assets, I've found them throughout the game. I think the sl*ts one is meant to be on triss' house originally and the mind the gap is on sign posts as a reference to the London tube. 'Dirty sl*ts' shows up all sorts of fun places tho. I've seen it on tavern walls, tattoos, and even on the sign post of the Griggs Villiage in the fairytale illusion world. It's pretty comedic that they reuse that asset so often.

I went back to the Center Army Group Camp in Velen to grab screenshots for Cosplaying reference, and out of curiosity i checked out the notice board because i had collected all notices way earlier in the Game. If you go back after the Game Ending and you went through with "Reason of State", you'll notice that there is a new notice in the Garrison, an express order from Vattier de Rideaux telling all Nilfgaardian troops to avoid engaging Temerian fighters at all cost, and that if any are found ( Temerians ) in combat with Nilfgaardian soldiers, it is an act of self-defence because Temerian Guerilla Fighters will cease conflict with Nilfgaard immediately.

At the end of the tunnel you see a dead end, but also a small campfire, not lit. When you cast Igni on it, it changes into a sword in the ground. When at the Sabboth to kill Imlerith and the Crones, Ciri was bugging out and not following me to the gate, so I went back to get her (because why not?) after the gate had been unlocked and it closed behind me. Since we can’t get the key unless we loot it from the Sylvan (pretty sure it was from the Sylvan), I was locked out from hunting down Imlerith and the Crones, and had thus failed the main quest of the game until I reloaded the save a few minutes later.

I remember getting my pre-order physical copy of the game for PC and reading that thank you letter included in the case. It showed how much they respect each and every of their customers. When I saw that map, I was like, holy crap, there's going to be a LOT to explore. How right I was. The map looked awesome btw and it wasn't on a cheap paper either. I still have it and will treasure it forever. This is my favorite game of all time and I'm definitely going to replay it again from the start. Probably multiple times. I haven't got to it since I finished the Blood and Wine expansion though. I really like your videos and even if you'll put a new Witcher video up in 10 years, I'll watch it. I'll never be not interested in this game (or any Witcher game). The way you present is easy to understand, the video flows naturally and the topics are always interesting to me. Can't wait for the next one!

Hey xletalis, greetings from France, just wanted to humbly thank you for all those years. I now have a « relationship » with you, just like I have with the witcher 3 when I replay the game. The « finding an old friend again impression » I also have this thing that, English is also our common language that allows us to communicate and me enjoy your content. Happy birthday ( late I know ) to your child and I wish you nothing but good memories let to be created with your family and friends. Have a great day man. Cheers

9 years and its still the best singleplayer game ive ever played by along shot. and you still deliver the best and most interesting videos for hardcore fans of any witcher related content. ive seen others that also have done it, but they lack something you got. I love the simplisity, the no BS approach, its rare on youtube these days. even tho you find the tiniest details we missed, your not pushing content/videos and steching content for to long like most other youtuber does. i really love that about this channel! ofc there are other things, like how i get to see Ciri get sold over and over, something i have never gotten myself to do, ever. And the Zoltan-song! Pls never stop xD ps, babtism of fire is a good book, regis is such a fantastic character in the books, no wonder blood and wine is so good =)

11:57 this is a statue of Melusine’s throne, you can find that throne in her lair in the mountains near the village of Svorlag Island in Skellige. You can also look up Melusine’s Art work from Gwent the witcher card game, the art show’s her sitting on that Throne, one of my best Gwent Artworks tbh ❤️

that's exactly it :) Did you draw it? :O

@@xLetalis sadly in not the artist :), but im a big skelligen deck fan for gwent card game and i love diving in all the details and lore of each character, honestly i really hope CDPR will inspire some of the cards from gwent online to use them in W4 coz it will be magnificent tbh !

Xletails is the only person I trust with my Witcher videos, sometimes I'm stuck on some mission and have to take some hint and I make sure to look for only Xletails, because along with the run-through he also points outs easter eggs and things that I might've missed through the mission. Another things is that the fact that he's been making these videos for so long now and he still finds stuff to talk about is what motivates me to try doing things differently and trying new methods to reach a certain point, and such things make the games even more interesting.

It was a very pleasant and comforting experience, especially during difficult times for me. I just found something new (to me) today - did you know Moritz Diefenthel never leaves the basement of the Kingfisher after Now or Never? I found him for the first time ever today and immediately wondered if it was choice-dependent. (I saved Berthold and Anisse on this playthrough, which I normally don't do, so I wondered if maybe the idea was that his reaction to that was "You nearly got us all killed for two people who didn't want to come anyway. I was right the first time - you can't be trusted as a leader. I'm not going.") I tried searching around though and it seems like enough people have encountered him to confirm he's just always in the basement after. Can you imagine what it must be like to be this guy? He already burned at the stake once and now he's trapped alone in a basement that has an open doorway into a sewer full of monsters and an unlocked door at the top of the stairs leading to one of the most popular spots in town. He's probably sitting here contemplating how he's likely the last mage in Novigrad so they're sure to make a grand spectacle out of him if/when they do find him. I mean, I don't like Moritz but that sounds like a truly special level of hell right there.

(11:53) The effigy resembles a statue in Velen around which a bunch of people are praying to what seems to be another cult. It can be found under fast travel marker - refugees camp, east of Midcopse. As for the magic cake, there are references to that in Cyberpunk too, during the Delamain quest in Pacifica

The musicians at/on the white rose are usually found at the large market square during the BaW quest and after the good ending. After the bad ending the square is devoid of stalls and podiums because they erected Anna Henrietta's statue. In other news: Vlodidmir calling Shani: Shani, sugarplum, ginger muffin, strawberry, rhubarb, rowan petal, peach, little robin, juicy pear, blueberry, cinderella, ever-loving tulip, and darling. Thanks for sharing xLetalis!

Nooo, there was a Portal cake! I can't believe they did that! And I missed it. I so much love your videos! P.S. "I won't be watching it but it's where Regis appears" (photo) - that was epic touch! Happy Anniversary! :)

In the room with the cake, the crate in the middle is also colored like a companion cube (from portal). Though with the one golden glowing portal this isn't exactly a hard secret to find!

Time does truly fly. My daughter is ten tomorrow, circa 1.26am. I don't know if I'm imagining it or not, but I seem to remember you mentioning that she was four years old. Mind you, I've watched so many of your videos. I couldn't say which video it happened in. I'm pleased to hear that there is another video planned. Hopefully soon? Take care, and be productive. 😀😀😀❤️😀😀😀

I saw other comments that the effigy is from a quest in Skellige, but when I first saw it, I immediately associated it with the cementery from the end of Harry Potter 4, you know, the grave of Voldemorts dad. It looks really similar. There's even the Goblet of Fire reference earlier in, as you said.

Some very cute detail that i don't remember you covering although i might have just missed it). There is a very cool option in the "Out on your arse" quest if you get to it after doing the ice giant quest in Skellige - you can mention it to the guys in the Crippled Kate's and they will just leave

I still remember the first play. Oh I could not stop playing, started first thing in the morning, finished 3 am. And again next day. Damn I get nostalgic when I go trhough old saves and just explore the world. You just can't grasp or recreate that first feeling of going through it can you? But you can still reminisce in it. Oh where the time gone.

12:00 this statue is from a Refugee Camp in western Velen You initially need to clear it from "rebels", as it is a "abandonet settlement" type of location

Man the Witcher 2 armour sets really were special. It's hard to describe them, but they have such a nice "wonky" character to them, they perfectly fit into the aesthetic of the second game It's also weird to think about how I remember the exact date I bought this game. In the following few months I read all the books, replayed the third game as well as the other games, and even read the comics. There will probably never be another fictional world that is as close to my heart as this one

It's funny how Syanna killing Anna is considered the "bad ending" when I personally ADORE that ending. It made me laugh out loud cuz the animation was somehow really comical to me, but the effect her death has on Beauclair is so great. From the foggy atmosphere, to the monument erected in the middle of town and then finally, Geralt's reaction to the whole thing cuz he's an emo bitch and of course, he'll be super morose over a situation he couldn't have prevented.
