Tried these out at Summer NAMM. The necks are sooo smooth to play.

Isn't it strange how all the people that 'don't get' relics, can't wait to tell us all about it! I don't particularly love them but each to his own......if you don't like it, don't buy one!!

vs Suhr? Similar / better?
@nigelvonshredman5 жыл бұрын
Bill Evans deffo a different vibe. The Xotic feels more worn in, even with the light relic. More vintage like. The Suhr feels a bit more ‘precise’ and PRS like. Not better or worse. The Xotic just felt right

That’s a nice relic guitar, the choice of wood for the neck gets the look of it from scrapwood to awesome

I wanted to buy one of these for a long time. The only thing is I wanted a Floyd Rose. I contacted the company in person at NAMM and several times on their site. They wouldn’t do it. So I bought something else instead. Still really nice guitars.

I've noticed recently alot of tastefully done ssh guitars types being made by various keen manufacturers... credit the fender shawbucker pick up for enlightening us to a guitar that is versatile with modern player appointments that is about as good as it gets for today's guitarist. 🎸

sounds real good, beauty looks for sure, not a relic person but its done very well. thing is though, I own many real vintage Japanese guitars bought at prices from 220 to about 600 dollars that sound every bit as good as what I'm hearing. So the question is for 2000 is it really worth it...thanks for the video...well done.

These are really nice guitars, well made, and I hated the relic thing when it first came out, it grew on me I like them now, as long as they don’t look like they’ve been in fire , light relic is cool,, but It’s a trend/fashion ,things will change again, I have a couple relics and the rest of my guitars are pristine stock
@NGS24102 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you can not came back from a relic, except painting all again. You always can relic a new one.

Too worn.i know it FEELs broken in,,,,but I think the relic look must be Earned, on the Road. SRV & Rory Gal. style. OR a clean, Satin finish.
@VonBluesman6 жыл бұрын
Go to Reverb.com and see they have others available in different degrees of relic, not as heavy relic as this model, one with just a satin finish look. Surely they will build you anything or style you desire.
@juka4216 жыл бұрын
The srv Strat is close to this relic. The rory gal start has no finish on it. It’s also been said that it wasnt road worn but him chipping it away so if it ever got stolen he could identify it
@mariussauer8926 жыл бұрын
if you buy a vintage Instrument for the feel you didnt earned it neither
@jasong5466 жыл бұрын
I agree, and I think worn ones can look really cool, but for some reason I like mine to be in the best cosmetic shape possible. Strange kind of contradiction there.
@jobckts6826 жыл бұрын
SRV & Rory. This is just one TOO Many, beat up, Strats. Road Warn, Relic, Aged, weathered, or Scruffed up. looks like 1/4 the market. for over 10 yrs. now. Gimmie Solid Gloss or Satin. even Black Matte finish is REAL. (Faded Burst is fine)

Since 3 month i am playing a SSS Xotic - absolut killer Sound. But changing stings is terrible. These locking tuners are completly useless. I mean they hold the guitar in tune, thats what they are supposed to do, but if you need to change a string quickly on stage.....forget it. No chance.

Dont get this relic business with guitars, seems a real wanky thing to do to fake the age of a guitar, I mean whats the point, Id rather have real nice looking guitar than some faked beat up piece of junk, all thats going to happen is that bare wood is going to soak up all the sweat, beer, rain and whatever else its exposed to swell and up and distort and bye bye guitar
