XP Deus - Setting Tone Breaks & Tones explained (I hope !)

Fantastic bit of information I have just upgraded from ORX to a d1 full with my ORX HF 9” coil I new this was an option on the deus but I couldn’t find it for the life of me. I actually had a deus light before the ORX but I couldn’t get my head around the tones without a screen when I started

Hi Pete. I find it best to avoid any that have a bass boost for music, they tend to muffle the high tones. My Favourites are XP's own FX Blue backphones. They are extremely light and the sound is superb as you'd expect. If I want to shut out any noise then I use Sennheiser 206 headphones. They are over-ear but light and do a great job of shutting out noise and they have really clear audio on signals. I actually wear these the most now and only use the FX ones if it's a hot day. I do have some ear buds but they are my least preferred option to be honest, try and avoid the cheap ones and bass boost if you're buying ear buds. Hope that helps. ATB MMMD

Ive ordered the 206s today only 32.95 on amazon as would like to try some over ears and based on your recommendation great to hear from someone who’s used them.. many thanks buddy 👍👍

Excellent explanation. Just to add it is worth noting that if you set the first tone break to: 202, 0 (-6.4) and the second tone break to 202, 10 ( or anything up to 22) you achieve iron tone discrimination without actual discrimination. The benefit is slightly better depth.
