THIS looks great, my current contract is just about to end and this seems like a phone that I would like to have, serves both the purpose of a phone and a new handheld console. Keep up the good work sony and make sure to get developers to support this device, I see large potential in this.

@WadonMurder Dude, the NGP is the Sony PSP2. However, it is actually called the Sony NGP, which stands for Next Generation Portable.

@TheNemesisInferno wrong :) you can also play psp games with the psp app installed ;) when you open the gamepad it automatically enters that app check some of other videos you'll see what i talk about

@Nuclearkiwi2 Playstation Certified means it's using Sony Ericsson as brand, but it's certified with the Playstation brand as well, adding features from the brand, PSP was a "pure-blooded" Playstation.

@FenrusU Thing is, NGP isn't a phone. A console isn't something you regularly walk around with in your pocket, at work for example. That's why they're both interesting, at least in my opinion. :)

@newkie2008 thats the main point of this phone...it will have the PS1 library on it. Android phone will also have PS1 library on them from the Playstation Suite contract

people are forgetting that the NGP will be coming out fairly soon. the graphical difference just eliminates the Xperia from the "new" gaming community, so i cant imagine it will be very worth it...

@flamingtoady I think the creator of the phone is Sony.. but not the Playstation team. The Playstation team probably approved it, saying that it's good to play games and have the title "Playstation" phone or something like that... Just my guess.

@Zontois What portable won last gen? DS. which system has more original ips annouced for launch window? 3ds. Which has the gimick of true 3d visuals? 3ds. Does that mean ngp is worth than the 3ds? of course not; the better platform is a matter of opinion. However, i'm better the more casual friendly and cheaper priced 3ds will win sales wise over the ngp. (btw i'm getting both)
