Really good job, Steve! As a professional racing kart driver for 12 years now I am quite surprised with the result an amateur was able to reach. Those guys have a shark-like mentality and true killer insticts when their helmets are on and you managed to survive around them. The physical part is quite important and i was sure you are going to get tired as hell there. I think you managed to finish the final with a good result because you were contantly focused and full of adrenaline from being in a train-chain with the other guys. You’ve no idea how jealous I am you have a legit karting scene near you. Stoked for your opportunity, grateful you’re bringing us on the adventure with you.
@jeedreed44883 жыл бұрын
Hey if you're really serious about this, I'm sure if you talked to the right people you could probably start a karting business. It would be a lot of work, but since there's nothing out there, it could benefit you and a lot of other passionate racers.
@albinorhino63 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the encouragement, but it’s not that simple. The entirety of the UK is 1/4 the size of my province of BC. Roughly 250k km^2 vs almost 1M km^2. I know of one karting track in the entire province (Area 27). Vancouver might have one or two, that’s 6 hours from where I live. There might be one in Calgary, that’s another 6 hours in the opposite direction. And that’s it. There’s karting tracks in Ontario and Quebec, but those provinces are a 3 to 4 day drive (10 hours+ of driving per day) away. We don’t have the density of tracks, which means there’s no density of interest in the sport. Add in environmentalism, building new race tracks is not a top priority for many around here.

@@albinorhino6 Fair point, and yeah I didn't say it was going to be easy😉 I live in Toronto and lukcily enough have goodwood kartways which is about a 20 minute drive for me. It's pretty sad that there's not much out there, but I'm sure there are a bunch of people that'd enjoy it.
