I’ve been running all of my lasers on Lightburn, but now I have to learn XCS because Lightburn does not support the F1 extension. Thanks for the tips

Hi Derek, thanks for your comment! I know what you mean. I am a longtime Lightburn user as well but had to learn XCS when I got my P2 CO2 laser. Its very simple software to learn, fortunately, and is really the only way to use most of the advanced functionality of the xtool new line of lasers.

Hi Carey, thanks for your comment. I THINK what you're asking is if you can ungroup the material test array generated in Creative space. If so, yes you can. You can also click on each square to see the speed / power / etc settings...

Thanks for your comment! Yes, I tested v2 of the XCS software and found (as of today) it still has alot of bugs to work out before its going to be a non-beta version of the software. You can always uninstall 2.0 and just download the previous version from the xtool website.

XTool Creative Space framing button not moving the laser around the image area. How to fix and what is the cause?

You have to push the silver button on the actual x tool engraver to start the framing process. Clicking framing in creative space just primes it to start.

The most frustrating thing about this software is that the layouts of the tools buttons are in different positions than Lightburn. If you want people to move over to your software, then you want the user to have minimal relearning. The ability to reposition the tools on the toolbars would also be a good idea.

I agree... If you already know lightburn, which is where I came from, then it would be very nice if everything was in the same location. XCS is improving every month and is actually alot easier than lightburn for many usages...

Hi Kenny, thanks for your comment. Yes, I think its only for the xTool line of lasers. I use the P2 and D1 and they work great :)

If anybody knows of this problem or a solution, please help when I’m working on a project. Sometimes the whole project jumps off screen when I try to bring it back I cannot click on the image with the arrow when I try to trace a green box to highlight image, it is nowhere near the arrow icon and I cannot select image at all sometimes I can fix it by bringing in a new image and it resets has anybody had this problem or issue if you know how to fix it or what it is, please help

Thanks for your message. I've seen some strange stuff happen on earlier versions of the xcs software but not so much with the latest versions... Check for updates and see if that helps!

It was helpful, but moving a bit fast and that little arrow is so hard to see. So often you’d say something like “click here and do this”, and I’d be like “wait, what? Where did it go??” and you’ve already moved on to the next thing. Had to rewind and pause a few times. ☺️

Thanks very much! As a complete newbie I found it very helpful. I need to combine two shapes ie. adding a tab, but when I overlap the two I need to delete the overlap. When I try to click on one or both the shapes it doesn't give me the option of either combining/uncombining them or deleting the overlap. Would you have any advice as to what I'm doing wrong? Hi tgankyou for the video, very helpful. Im trying to engrave a glass. When ive put the width and height in mm, and set up the other parameters ive gone to framing and the cross hair on the laser just go back and forth not the other direction. What could i be doing wrong here? Many thanks 👍

Thanks for your comment! Hmm... Sounds like might be software bug. I would reach out to xtool support. If you have access, I recommend contacting them through their various official facebook groups as they seem to reply much faster :)

Thanks for your message. Absolutely. You can do very detailed engravings from photos when you get your settings dialed in... Vectors import in natively with no need to trace/convert so they would perfectly and retain the highest quality settings... Hope this helps!

XCS currently supports SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, and BMP file formats.

When the settings call for Dot Duration, the higher settings are for longer continued laser fire and the lower settings are for shorter continued laser fire.
