Hi I'm assuming your in NC hence the Tarheel . I'm in the Foothills of Western North Carolina, my wife gave me a Xtool D1 Pro 5W for Christmas I'm just getting it assembled and about ready to start trying it out. Love your clear, concise overview of the XCS software, and learned more for your video than the dozens of videos I've watched so far ! I have seen people use xTool creative space on tablets before, so you could possibly use the Bluetooth on your tablet, but I never have. Just about any computer would work. I use a Dell laptop.

Is it possible to process multiple elements as a single one without using the unite command? Grouping still processes each element individually. For example, an svg text to be engraved, if united will be processed all together but if not, it will be engraved letter by letter which is a lot slower.

Thank you for this video. I need help because I dont know how to stop xtool from ungrouping my imported svg (image) automatically. Is there a way to stop it from happening. I like to get my files ready in Illustrator and import my svg to xtool but as soon as I import it, it ungroups every little tiny text and its really time consuming and hard to regroup them and re arrange them. Can you make a video explaining the different layer & color options. Thanks desperate i am :)

Great tutorial! I do have a question. So i have the xtool D1. The three buttons on the right side are supposed to read, score, engraved, and cut. Mine is only giving me the option to engrave. It's there a way to change that?

Great question! The score, engrave, and cut option will only show based on the type of image you load into Creative Space. For instance, if I try to cut out a picture of a flower on wood, i cannot score or cut around the image unless I put an outline or vector around it.

Thank you for the lesson! Please help me figure it out. I'm making a plywood box. To make protruding spikes, just select them along with the wall of the box and combine it all. And when you need to make a hole in the wall of the box for spikes, then, as I understand it, you need to use "Subtract". But most often everything is deducted from me. But I only need to subtract small details from the big one. What am I doing wrong?

How do I get the Undo, Group, Outline, Align etc options to show along the top of the XCS window like you have? My XCS doesnt display any of those along the top of the window, Just some options down the left side of the window

Just got my xTool D1 Pro 10W but need to get a Windows laptop to run XCS as I only have a Linux desktop PC. Any advice on specification of which laptop to get? I know xTool list the minimum spec, but what is the spec of the PC or laptop you use since you seem to get on just fine running XCS. I'm guessing I need Intel i5, but the higher the generation of processor the more expensive the laptop becomes. Thanks.

I use Intel i7 and it does great! I have seen KZbinrs use tablets to run their projects through wifi. That may be a cheaper alternative. I have never attempted to use a table, though, so I don't know how good/bad it works.

Hi. Im struggling at the moment. Im trying to engrave a glass. When framing the laser before process it just goes back and forth, not the other direction. What would i b doing wrong? Thanks so much for the video.

If you will paint the glass with a water based black paint, then engrave, it will look good. Then rinse the glass off to remove the paint. That is how I do glass cups.

Would you happen to be able to tell me why engrave is the only option it gives me now? I struggled for 2 days to get this thing aligned properly and did 1 quick test to burn an image that failed, at that time it had score engrave and cut I think now it only shows engrave

What type of image are you using? For instance: If I use an image from the Shape or Insert tab on Creative Space then I can score, cut, or engrave it. But if I pull an image off of the internet and download it to Creative Space, the only option I have is engrave. However, you have the ability to place a boarder on an image that should allow you engrave, score, or cut. Hope that helps.

Creative space centers image on the workspace. What I like to do is create my image, click process, then frame it out multiple times. On the bottom left side of the process screen, there are different starting points for your engraver, these really help when you are framing your project. Remember: framing is your friend!

Please can you help me? ive merged two images together (a face and then another image of a hat on top of its head). On my main screen the hat is in front to cover the top of the head but when it goes onto the preview they have swapped positions. There may be a carrot key, three lines, or down arrow on the top of the screen that open and closes the task bar.

Ok, how the hell do you adjust the units on the dispay, i have them set to inches but it reads per every 10 inches not 1", 2" ,3"....ect.

Even when set to mm, it reads every 100th, must have changed on last update, but this makes it harder

Sam, I have never encountered that problem so I don't know a solution. I would suggest deleting, then redownloading the Creative Space software. That should reboot it to the original settings. If that doesn't work, contact the Xtool support.

Usually there is a text box on the computer to type in. I am unsure on a mobile device because I have never tried it on one.

Not that I've ever used. What I normally do is make images/text how I want them on Canva, then download and upload it to Creative Space!

Insert a rectangle of any size then find the Size - Height/Width on the top bar. Unlock the Height (there is a little lock icon beside the H) and make the Width and Height equal. If the W/H are equal, it will be a square.

I do not. However, when I need to use fonts/text that is not supported by Xtool Creative Space, I type it into Canva and then download it into Creative Space as a JPG or PNG.

Hopefully I am reading the question correctly, but be sure that you have the correct settings on your image AND your text. Creative Space takes each new image, text, or shape as a different project. So, the Speed and Power will be different if you have to different sets of graphics. Just be sure that you have the speed and power on the image and the text.

Smart-Fill is only supported only for machines with cameras, such as xTool M1. Machines without cameras, such as the xTool D series, do not provide this function. I have a Xtool D1 Pro 10W, so I have never used it. Great question!
