Explore a vast island complex to uncover Halo's secrets.
The Silent Cartographer: Evolved is a ground-up reimagining of the classic Halo level, featuring all-new environments, a finely-tuned custom gameplay sandbox, and a wide array of well-hidden secrets.
Upon its original Custom Edition release in 2015, TSC:E became the highest-rated map ever on Halomaps[hce.halomaps.org], and currently maintains a 9.9 out of 10 rating on ModDB.
TSC:E's new MCC edition has been painstakingly adapted by the map's original developers, including full co-op support, a complete visual overhaul, and thorough touch-ups for other MCC-specific features, like controller rumble and ultra-wide resolutions.
Other info:
TSC:E requires the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and MCC - H1: Multiplayer components of MCC. Make sure these are both installed in your MCC DLC settings.
TSC:E repurposes the "Easy" difficulty option to enable an alternate gameplay and story experience. We'd strongly recommend selecting Normal or higher if it's your first time with the map.
This is not the modified SPv3 version of TSC:E, which was dramatically altered without the input of TSC:E's core team. This is a faithful adaptation of the original release, from the original team!
A full source release, containing all assets, scripts, and custom tools used to make TSC:E, is publicly available.

I remember this one, pretty good mod. The most impressive thing I remember being the zealot at the end pulling a fast one on me and deactivating the bridge while I was on it trying to bait it out.

This was the early version of the Silent Cartographer Evolved, before SPV3 was entirely finished.

Not quite. It was an independent project made by a group of people that were part of the same modding team (CMT). It was later integrated into SPV3, along with many of its assets (due to their quality). The SPV3 version of TSC:E is arguably worse, as it removes a lot of the unique encounters and careful balancing that made it great. The developers themselves have said themselves that the SPV3 version removed a bunch without consulting them.

Opening up the level for more warthog fun is a brilliant Idea, I especially liked the caves around the midpoint. Reworking the island like this and retaining the iconic land marks makes it feel both familiar and fresh.

That shot at 42:17 ! 😂 Also, at 43:17, it’s good detail that the yellow section with the red forerunner glyph indicates where Flood samples were stored. The location where Captain Keyes went.

i remember this level was part of the orginal licensd spv 3 singlpayer version 3 i dont know the exact dates of creation but i thouhgt they were the creators interesting to see how far it backtracks

At first I thought this was the SPV3 TSC-Evolved, but the SPV3 version has an honor guard elite inside of the locked door and not a Field Master.

The only nitpick I have (and it is a minor one) is the presence of brutes on the ring. Even in lore they were not trusted yet to set foot on it in CE. That said I'd rather have the brute shot and more enemy types than not. Are the Buggers in this too? Other than that this is fucking awesome!

No, this was originally made in Halo Custom Edition, which SPV3 used. The creators of Silent Cartographer Evolved ported this version to MCC once the tools were available. One of the devs commented on a previous comment if you want more info

@@xXBarthXx Hi there, lead environment artist here for TSC:E! You are correct: While SPV3 and TSC:E were developed around the same time and shared some art assets, the SPV3 team was not directly involved with TSC:E. The version of TSC:E eventually included in SPV3 was dramatically modified without the input of TSC:E's core team, up to and including the removal of major features. This is the original team and an updated version of the original map, ported for MCC.
