You both are setting many precedents. Brave trail blazers! I do agree with Trump on this one because trade should be reciprocal and equitable. China bans almost all foreign apps so should we ban theirs. That should be even a bigger concern than all the security problems.

I think "Chhòng-phuh" sounds like the Mandarin version with Taiwanese accent. If we must find a Taiwanese translation for Trump, I'd prefer "Thu-làng-phuh". My personal preference for people's name is the same as Aiong's in previous videos tho. Just type and pronounce "Trump" or "Shinzo Abe" along with POJ. But A-hoa-sai's intention is valid and it makes for a good discussion about how foreign words and names could be translated.

My preference is either to keep the original writing and say it with Taiwanese sounds, or to use Katakana or something.

That actually makes me wonder if China uses 特朗普 because that Japanese uses トランプ. China media is probably lazy so they copied it from Japan. XD

It is good to call them in Taiwanese "Chi-na" instead of "the Central Country" (This same comment has been blocked over and over again. Am I being censored?)

Why do you think it's "provocative" to refer to China as China (Chi-ná)? Are English, French, German, and Swahili all being "provocative" (挑釁) every time they say "China" instead of "The Middle Kingdom"? In Tâi-gí, "Tiong-kok" is also less clear than "Chi-ná". China / Taiwan - clear Chi-ná / Tâi-oân - clear Tiong-kok / Tiong(-hôa-bîn)-kok - less clear Has nothing to do with "挑釁". Only to do with (1) that's one of the traditional names for China in almost every language, including Taiwanese (cf. 1932 Tâi-Ji̍t Tōa Sû-tián), and (2) clarifying a distinction between China and Taiwan. Another name in Taiwanese could be "Tn̂g-soaⁿ", although it's maybe less clear in international / mixed context than simply "Chi-ná = China". P.S. You can put whatever Hàn-jī you like for Tâi-oân. It comes from an aboriginal name as far as I know, so it doesn't have any "traditional" name in Hàn-jī. According to some sources, 「台員」 used to be an acceptable Hàn-jī as well. Fine with me.
