This reveal blew my mind, and it was one of those reveals that they hinted at quite a bit in previous episodes. When M'Gann and Superboy first go to school, she talks about how the White Martians are treated poorly by the Green Martians, she then says "Of course I'm green, but it doesn't make it right". When she first battles Simon, you can catch a glimpse of her true form and the 'Hello Megan' TV character when she is restoring Superboy's memories. The episode where Black Canary is talking to each team member after that horrific training simulation, M'Gann's skin turns from green to white (Caucasian). When Black Canary points this out, M'Gann freaks out but then says "Oh, you meant Caucasian." Gotta give credit to shows when they leave little hints like that.

Interesting how in episode 11 "Terrors", in the therapy scene with Hugo Strange, Superboy basically points out that he doesn’t like to live in Superman’s stupid fantasy world where everything is solved in half an hour. But in this episode Megan loves that in her favorite show the main character solves all her problems in under 22 minutes.

Superboy, Miss Martian Kid Flash and Psimon all refer to the events in "Bereft". Superboy again states his dislike for monkeys, which started in issue #2 . Superboy says that Monkey is a "good name" for Garfield's monkey. The monkey being named Monkey and the oryx being named Oryx matches Superboy's own naming of his pets as Sphere and Wolf. Superboy recognizes the Apokoliptan weapons from his fight with Intergang in "Disordered". Robin is reluctant to lead the mission due to the trauma he suffered when he became leader in "Failsafe", as established in "Disordered". Kid Flash congratulates Robin on saving a country; in "Coldhearted", Robin had said the same to Kid Flash. Megan stated in "Targets" that Conner was her favorite name, which is explained in this episode. Kid Flash drops a number of hints that he knows Batman is Bruce Wayne. It's great character exploration for her to still be a bit standoffish after her apology when she's told the Martian game of taking others form is not acceptable on Earth, especially not for reasons of attraction. Because her entire time on Earth has been in another form, hoping to assimilate into a certain life, and attract a certain kind of boy. Even if it's not malicious, it's still wrong, but to her it's a mental escape from her racial oppression at the hands of the green martian. Always wishing she could be someone else with a life where all problems are resolved in 23 minutes. The only place she can, where most of the populace _isn't_ psychic. Then her admitting her true form, and still getting permission to use that teenaged form from the woman she copied it from, is the greaest reassurance for her.

The team is the covert ops branch of the Justice League. They go do the missions that the higher profile League members can't do. If Superman just busted into some foreign country and started messing with their politics, it would be a huge scandal. Some "kids" sneak in and handle things, nobody notices or cares. You can say this makes Batman look stupid, but keep in mind that Batman has been taking kids into combat for decades. It's never made sense, but we accept it. Besides, it isn't like Robin is a dummy or anything.

FYI, Megan is a white Martian pretending to be a green Martian. In some versions, the white Martians are an abused minority, in other versions they were oppressors who nearly wiped out the green Martians. She is terrified of being found out, but none of her friends really understand the difference between white and green Martians. Her uncle also changes his form around humans. His real form looks like her real form, but greens instead of white.
