The Backswing is awesome! Two questions about the Backswing. 1) What is the size of the stabilizer bolt and nut which holds the rack (not the bolt with the key). 2) Is there a way to lock the two primary D-shaped swing arms in the event the latch comes loose?

Sure they come up with a back up camera hole 4 months after I buy mine haha. I have to say though the large fits my F250 perfectly.

Hey Yakima, if you'd go off centre just enough for the hitches to miss each other(car vs rack, so the rack hitch slot off to the left looking from behind the car), you could get the whole thing much shorter and so stick out much less and have less leverage on the car suspension. Any vacancies? ;-)

That's not actually true. I looked at the laws in Victoria and as long as you can still see the lights with your bike on it's still legal. You just need a clearly visible (and lit at night) license plate. This may not apply in your state. I have had many racks, seems like the ones with plastic end up looking terrible after less than a year. My Saris looks horrible after a few rides in the snow/salt, even though I spray them off every trip. I prefer all metal coated now. We are going to do custom ones and stop buying junk for 3/4 the price of a really custom nice one. Construction on these racks are terrible. horrible welds, springs and pins that will fail. unless you live in a mild climate these racks are not a good investment. My less than one year old Thelma dumped my 10k bike a few times. The latch simple doesn't latch and hold as it should. Since been redesigned
