My mom passed due to COVID in August 2022. My dad had COVID first and he thinks it's his fault because even though he had it, my mom never wanted to leave his side. All of us kids tell him to never blame himself. It's the work of God. We are all set in time to when we depart from here. My dad was by her the whole time. I wasn't on Island. They've been together for 34 years. When I play this game and hear this song, I think about my parents. Can't help but she'd a tear. This song is so on point. They never had a vacation, they both worked so hard for all of us, their kids.

Maybe he means "wake up" to see what love they truly have. Like a long term relationship growing distant and cold. So singer wants to do a crazy honeymoon to bring back the same memories back. But the end kinda is sad because "I should sleep too" might mean he gave up as well. And just gonna be a grumpy old guy like his wife. Either way it's a sad interpretation. 1 is death. The other is a wilted relationship. Japanese make things beautiful tho. Or maybe it's just Kiryu-chan.... (Low key it has an elvis/beach boys vibe so it might just be an ironic love song)
