I have five speakers and for some reason only two of them are working and before these two were used the other three would work, does that mean like I can turn off and on certain speakers if so how can I do that? I have the Yamaha RX-V679

Bi-amp is to split the highs and lows.

U show that it can be reset, but u don't say which button to hit to actually reset. Do I hit the "straight " button again?
@ejcheck7 жыл бұрын
Bi-amp allows for separate signals to go to the Tweeters and Woofers on a speaker, it has nothing to do with Zones.
@Roof_Pizza7 жыл бұрын
you lose the second zone if you bi-amp a pair of speakers.
@ejcheck7 жыл бұрын
Frankly, I think anyone who is seriously considering bi-amping would go with a separate preamp, crossover and 4 power amps
@joemacch62846 жыл бұрын
Roger that. Wtf is he talking about. But using the straight button with the main power to get into another menu is useful. Yes biamp is within the speaker itself and you’ll clearly see two sets of jacks for that purpose, on the speaker.

Have all the wires hooked up for Zone 2, but can't get the speakers to play. Do you have a video on the set-up instructions so I can see if we set it up incorrectly? We have an Rx V3800

Can you change the ohms per chanel or just the whole system?
@justinfynes7611 Жыл бұрын
I don't think bi-amping has anything to do with putting speakers in multiple rooms. I believe u feed your low frequencies through one amp, through a pair of wires, to the bass speaker, and you feed your higher frequency speakers with a separate pair of wires, coming from a different amplifier circuit
@garys97183 жыл бұрын
I think you're wrong about the bi amp, setting, some speakers are capable of bi amp like klipsch, driving each driver individually,
@OSCARDEMELERO Жыл бұрын
Tienes razon , con los filtros le indicas las frecuencias que quieres que le lleguen a un parlante u a otro y que no se solapen, yo tambien tengo unos Tannoy pero no uso el biamp los tengo puenteados y el Yamaha se encarga de todo

@bananasplitbrain4767 жыл бұрын
You should ALWAYS keep it on 8 Ihm. It is not harming neither your speakers nor your amp. You are simply losing potential! Check audioholics in this matter please.

so if i have 6 Ohm speakers i should set 8ohm from the receiver even if i can choose to set 6ohm?
@joemacch62846 жыл бұрын
Most speakers are 8 ohm impedance. Thus it should be set there unless you have specific speakers rated at 6 ohms.

Yahama rvd1500 receiver to hook up to a 2.1 Polk pr maybe an AR 2 AX 2.0 plus subwoofer system driven from a Schiit DAC out. Question, How can I get a simple 2.1 setup with one cd or other hi level input and Polk speakers. It worked then it does not. Im 80 yo and dont need all the bells and whistles. cant hear them anyway. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Bi-Amp DOES NOT mean party mode. DOES NOT mean Zones. DOES NOT mean it splits highs and lows! Bi-Amp will take FOUR of your internal amplifiers and assign them to the FRONT MAIN CHANNELS. This way you will have 2 amplifiers for the LEFT channel, and 2 for the RIGHT channel. It is at THIS point where yes... you take the bridge straps off the back of your (large) main speakers, then feed the woofers with one amplifier output, then the midrange & tweeters with the other output. What Bi-Amping effectively does is double the power into your front main speakers. You NEED to read your manual! It will tell you which speaker outputs on the rear will be assigned to the front L&R when you select Bi-Amp.
