YAMAHA GUITALELE GL-1 - Carolan's Receipt / Doctor John Stafford - Turlough O'Carolan - Dracapalley

Another beautiful arrangement of a Turlough O'Carolan piece by Keith Hinchliffe.
Introducing my new little instrument, the Yamaha GL-1 Guitalele. It has the body the size of a baritone ukulele (1/8 guitar) and has a shortened guitar-style neck. Standard tuning on this instrument is ADGCEA, which is the equivalent of playing a standard guitar capoed at the 5th fret.
Tuning for this piece is: CGDGBD.

For those interested, I would highly recommend this as a travel guitar; very small and light, but still playable. It's quiet but that can also be quite nice. Well done Yamaha for releasing what I believe is the only guitalele on the market. Very cheap too!

that is a beautiful instrument. because of the higher tuning, i think it sounds almost like a harp. awesome playing too.
