Yamaha Mt10 Rizoma Mirror Upgrade

For those who dislike the position /look of the stock Mirrors , there is a clear walk-thru on the fitment of the Rizoma Retros.
Note I did have E-bay cheapies fitted before, however I found the quality of them was exactly that , a bit cheap .

I had these exact same mirrors on my mt09. Excellent quality, excellent optics (important), no vibration. Worth the $110 each.

I’m looking at a set for MT07. Did they come with inserts between the mirror and handlebar so you don’t have to tighten so much? Also heard if you get to certain rev range the harmonics of the bars tend to cause vibration

So i took the bike out on a days ago and again today , the mirrors are rock solid. no more looking at your elbows... slightly polarising also , no glare as such . Def worth doing if your thinking of changing out your mirrors.

Hey Richie, Ive got knock off bar end mirrors with exactly the same problem as you had. One mirror stays in place by the other one wanders when you go over about 85kph. Where did you get the OEM mirror block off plates from? Im from NZ and cant find anything like them anywhere. Great video also, im going to purchase the Rizoma mirrors now also. Cheers! Hi, how is the handlebar stability after changing to side mirrors? A friend told me that it would cause shaking in high speed. Also, can you install the rizoma on the original handlebar ends?

Hi Adir , thanks for stopping by and for your comments, I found no such problems with the stability of the handlebars after changing to the side mirrors. I do believe you can install them with original bar ends.

Thanks for your replies Stuart. I actually did look at the Sport Grips , however sometimes I use my 10 for the daily commute and its hella cold in Sydney in winter so i got the genuine Yamaha Heated grips.!

Richies Bikes yeah I'm just in Newcastle ride up the hunter valley for work I just rely on dianese xtravel goretex gloves I put rizoma sport pegs and lightech chain adjusters too been nice additions been looking into the block off plates after your vid

Cheers mate for your kind words. The block off plates will be required if your change out your stock Cat convertor to a Link pipe. . as mentioned in my video , the bike will bang and pop if the link pipe is fitted and the plates not fitted. might be a great time to change out that stock air cleaner also . ;) Also note once fitting link pipe a custom tune (Woolich) is highly recommended as a flat spot will be present from around 3k -4.5k rpm.

Richies Bikes makes sense why after my full exhaust the bike bangs and pops. Any ride ability impact though? It sounds great banging away Lol

Yes the banging and popping sound epic, however from everything I've read, it will actually over time cause damage to the exhaust valves.

SmokinZen , absolutely you can. The bar ends are the Yamaha Gilles toolings ones. The mirrors are Rizomas retros... epic👍

Nice vid. Instead of using electrical tape to build up the gap on the bar end you could have used an O-ring which would have helped.

This mirror is as shitty as the eBay one. 'Cause both of them are not convex mirrors. You could probably order a pair of bar end mirrors for the 2022 xsr900 from a YAMAHA dealer.
