For rampant versatility it's hard to beat the Yamaha PSR-E463. This video shows the main control sections and what they do.

I enjoyed it. One thing I would like to mention for the future psr e473 hope it comes out this year. The lcd display has always been the same I think that they can at least upgrade it to be more equivalent to the mm6/dgx650/yog535 etc.thats what I’m hoping. And probably more features. I always enjoyed watching your videos👍😁😉😉😎😎

Hi, I want to shift down one octave and save it. I found the "M Octave" but I can't seem to save it and use with other piano sounds. any help?
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
I think there's a 'transpose' function further in the menu, if you set that to -12 I'm pretty sure it's a global setting that will remain active if you change voices. I like it an octave down too. I solve the problem by saving every sound i use in the registry with M-Octave at -1. All depends how you roll, I suppose :)

What kind of output device are you using? Are you using portable speakers? Or perhaps are you using your Windows PC? With which application on your PC?
@gearfacts5 жыл бұрын
Some of the video was recorded from the speakers into my camera's mic, but the direct-recorded parts were made by connecting a Yamaha Pocketrak 2G which I have reviewed separately on Gearfacts :)

Can this keyboard do Scale tuning and save the presets? So if I want to play in something other than 12 Tone Equal Temperament like say, Kirnberger or 1/4 Comma Meantone, can I tune each note in the octave individually and save my tuning?

No, it can't do scale tuning.

Hey sir I'm a complete beginner i am stuck between the psr e463 or ctx 5000 or 3000 i hear that the ctx models are a bit tough to operate and as a beginner I'm confused the ctx has much more functions and all compared to psr e463 . Which keyboard should I go for if I go for the ctx model will it b much harder to learn playing ?
@gearfacts5 жыл бұрын
Hi Firoz, I recommend that if you are a beginner, stick with the Yamaha models. They are far more user friendly and will give you a taste of everything that keyboards can do rather than specialising in just one area. I think the CT-X keyboards sound superior but yes they are so difficult to operate that I think they are really only useful as a performance keyboard. Thanks for watching and for your message :) Gearfacts

@@gearfacts & Firoz ales - steer clear of the Casio CTX 3000 - it has a weaker sound than even the CTK-6000 & 7000 sound engines. And the headphone jack to amplifier is absolutely not usable. I've never tried the ctx-5000, so can't vouch for that model.

Question. This keyboard doesn't have stereo outputs (L and R) - just "headphones / output" - does this mono jack drastically decrease the volume and tone of the keyboard when running through an amplifier? Many other keyboards have this problem - including the terrible Casio CTX3000 (garbage compared to their earlier CTK boards).
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
Nope, I've never noticed any quality difference between a headphone socket and LR output. Sometimes it's more convenient to have LR output, but I've never had serious problems if restricted to headphone output.
@RedEyeC3 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts - Thank you for your reply, sincerely appreciated.
@RedEyeC4 жыл бұрын
With no L/R outputs on the PSR-3463, does this keyboard have a significant loss of audio having only the headphone jack to amplifier?
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
I can't notice any difference. I think the durability of the socket itself is an issue, but adio quality is basically the same. GF
@RedEyeC4 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts - thanks for your reply. Then this Yamaha is different than other "no L/R output" keyboards I've played that have a significant audio loss (compared to keyboards that have outputs) when inputing to an external amplifier.

I think fun should always be the first consideration. If playing an instrument is fun then you've achieved the goal of playing music. Fun. Enjoyment. If playing an instrument is a frustrating ordeal, then you're unlikely to get great music from it :)

Best sustain pedal for this keyboard?
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
The 'piano' style ones are better because they stay still on the floor. The small ones tend to move around too easily. So get one with the metal 'teardrop' shaped pedal, preferably with a polarity switch on the bottom.

4:10 what is the number of this effect on the arpeggio? Anyone who can help me
@gearfacts2 жыл бұрын
That's the tremolo effect, not an arpeggio. Choose Tremolo as your effect, then press the Knob Assign button so that the knobs control the effect, then turn the knobs to explore the sound. In the example I shoed at 4:10, I've used a layered sound and the effect only works on one of the layers, which results in that nice flowing dynamic :)
