The service manual says you should be measuring the chain from the lowest point of the upper chain guide. You should also be applying a small amount of downward pressure on the chain, adjusting it to 45-50mm on either the side stand or maintenance stand ( both 45-50mm). I think your instinct was correct and your chain was on the loose side. Just my two cents. Thanks again for the video. Please keep them coming.

Yeah I read it a couple of times and they just seem to like overcomplicating the explanation 😂 but yes both pull down and push up when measuring, I actually run a chain on it’s looser side, mainly just to ensure it never affects shock travel range, but that’s just me. Thanks for following, I would have uploaded another video this week but my new Mic ain’t working right yet so lost some footage.

2 recommendations re the chain. Spin the wheel to get to the "tight spot". Never trust the adjuster marks unless you have confirmed they are accurate. String line the alignment. Disregard if you already did both.

Yes off camera I had looked for tight spots, and one day I will get around to doing the string check, just trusted the factory installation so far 😊 I’m also thinking to swap out the chain adjuster blocks for stronger items so would be a great time to do alignment checks then
