Super classy, super cool and handsome bike. Even if you're not too familiar with superbikes, R7 still has lot of things to offer. Great stability, balance also so clean on turns which is most important in a bike. Just not that killer bike but if you're street rider R7 might be the best option

On the forks, I weigh 167 stripped, and found I like it with the forks 1 turn in (total) on preload which gives me 35 mm total sag, compression 7 clicks out, rebound 2 clicks out. Though on a warm day and riding hard, a little more rebound damping might be in order. I have the shock preload on minimum which gives me 26 mm total sag. I have the shock rebound 1 turn out. I ride this thing pretty darn fast and the the tire wear looks pretty even. I run 34 PSI front, 32 PSI rear on the street with stock S22 tires... which I like. I love quick shifters (good ones), but on this bike, I really don't feel like it would add much to the experience. For me this basic bike is kind of nostalgic, it reminds me of my old Interceptor 500, SV650, and first year of production R6. I love this thing, it puts the challenge and fun back in street riding which can be lacking with a R1 or even a MT10. And it is damn fast in the corners. It would take a very good rider on a Super Bike or Super Sport to get a way from a really good rider on this bike on the road in tighter twisties. The riding experience reminds me of a SV650, but with much better suspension, ergonomics, and aero.
@Oilyhands7492 жыл бұрын
My suspension settings pretty much identical to yours 👍 I’ve dropped the fork tubes to 11mm showing .

that's awesome, I really need to learn suspension, I know I would enjoy the bike way more if it was tuned correctly. I can rebuild engines and transmissions but suspension has always been voodoo to me. I agree with the QS, its not a good one but if you are a newer rider and have never used one before it is really cool. haha forsure its such an amazing bike in the corners which is why I always go back to it just being such a great street bike, it shines on back roads. If you are willing to push the bike and have fun its hard to beat but if you just ride in a straight line fast, no its not a great bike for you then lol

My first bike (2024 R7) is about to be delivered next month. My liter bike buddies think I'll outgrow it in weeks but I think the "running through all of the gears" is a strong argument that may not have me wanting more bike so soon. I've been keeping my eye on what possibilities might be the step up (such as the 2025 R9) just in case and for that reason, I'm hesitant to make many mods to the R7. We'll see how it feels I guess. Thanks for posting this vid!

Well congrats on the new bike! it all depends on what you do with the bike and sadly who you ride with. I may be an idiot since i havent even gotten my licence yet, but i feel like people who say the R7 "isnt fast enough" dont understand bikes at all (or cars for that matter). It's like saying a Mazda RX7 isnt fast enough, compared to a Mercedes SLR. No shit. The Mazda is built for extraordinary handling, and WILL be faster than an SLR on a curvy track. But the SLR will be faster on straightaways. I just dont get the mentality of "only fastest speed = good bike". Just shows the immaturity of the riders. Would you say a Harley is bad at what its meant to be, because it's slower than an H1? Or would you say a Husqvarna Vitpilen is bad because it cant be as comfy as a Harley? They're bloody designed for different purposes. The R7 was LITERALLY built for handling and being as light and narrow and nimble as possible, for the given displacement. It was NOT built to be an R6 upgrade in speed (which of course makes you wonder why they chose this name, especially given the older models that WERE faster). I just feel even people who've been riding for 10 years dont know the history of this model at all, nor its purpose. A great rider on the R7 will smoke a guy on a Hayabusa that makes 10 mistakes every corner.

I wish I would have done that video when I had both bikes but I sold both the ninja 400 and zx6r when I bought the r7. The r7 is lighter and easier to throw around on back roads and has more low end grunt at lower rpms. While the zx6r is much faster but you have to be in higher rpms to get the power, but when you get in that higher rpm range it is fast, more than I need on the street. I see the 600 race bikes aka super sports as awesome track bikes and the r7 is a good track bike for riders that are newer to track days but really it's a perfect supersport style bike for the streets

I really want one of these for my first bikes, honestly might just pull the trigger and let it fly. My true passion besides trucks, is motorcycles and guns. I can’t wait to get my hands on one, of course with extra training cause god knows I’m an idiot and I’ll probably get too comfortable like I’m driving my truck. Which actually literally the same day I’m writing this, I almost got in a crash, there was a white suv on the right side of the road, going through a neighborhood really fast, and about to pull out in front of me, and a car coming on the opposite lane, I threaded the needle and I know if I hadn’t had a truck in that situation I would have definitely been thrown a 100ft up and 3 ft forward. I only say that because where I live some people have ZERO respect for motor cycles and it scares me every time because I’m very cautious and helpful to bikers any time I see someone riding one no matter what it is. Others will tailgate at a dangerous distance, swerve in front of them cut them off all of the stupid things people wouldn’t do in front of another vehicle, all because ‘they can avoid it bikes are agile and whatever’ people are stupid. But yeah that’s my little tid bit 😂 definitely going to be getting one of these, and taking plenty of classes and such.

R7 slightly better for the streets with that in mind. Now for the real annoyances I have the r7 and tuono 660. When it comes to maintenance, repair parts cost 660 👎🏼 if you don't work on your own bikes and are good with paying the prices for repair and maintenance it's a rad bike
@WilliamPedersen4 Жыл бұрын
so the rs660 costs more in parts and maintence? The big things for me is that the r7 is cheaper and doesnt come with all the tech on the other hand the rs660 just looks cool and has that comfy riding posistion and a bit more power. so the yamaha would be better for long term ownership in terms of money? but its nearly the same bike right? like without the tech and power difference?
@ScoutsOut Жыл бұрын
Yes, close to the same bike. The r7 is no doubt a less stressful ownership in the parts and maintenance side and will last much longer. I totally agree with the looks but the hotter she is the more drama and mo yea she is

What’s your opinion on the r3?
@ScoutsOut2 жыл бұрын
if you would have asked me that 3 months ago I would have said don't waste your money its not fast enough on the freeway. however I just bought a 2017 R3 for my 17 year old son and riding it around has totally changed my mind. Its a great bike and the new version I think is even better. They really spend more time and effort on the ergos of the new one and ive really considered picking one up lately. its a great beginner bike and track toy if you want to learn proper track riding imo.

Try some bigger bikes like the Mt09 and mt10. A review on the R1 would be cool.

I haven’t been able to do any reviews on the bigger bikes, but I’ve rode many of them i liked the r1 the most just really didn’t see myself being capable of even using the power of it on the street or track. I really want to ride an MT09 or 10 those would be awesome

@ninjaarcades73568 ай бұрын
@ScoutsOut is it not just larger bore engine on the mt09 compared to r7 no you right r7 is a twin and mto9 is triple now after thinking about it they should have just few different power output types like flick of a switch on twin 72 bhp then 115 bhp map one so they could Still sale towards super sports class and still cost affective

The only way I can see the R7 as a "beginner bike" is if the person already has experience riding other bikes with clutches like dirt bikes & stuff but if its ur very first time on 2 wheels & a clutch its not a beginner bike get a R3

Might have to push that question to @bombgardener he is up there in height to. I was chatting with the owner of a bike shop a few weeks ago who had an r7 but he ended up getting ride of it cause his knees were hitting a weird spot on the fairing but he was insanely tall. Maybe 6'4 or 5. I would say go sit on one and see how it feels and check knee placement
