whew! good thing for that 10 year belt warranty! Wowzers
@BarnStangz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I don't think too many owners are going to have to do this, since the Yamaha CVT is very well engineered. My buddy is VERY hard on his 2016 Wolverine R-Spec and his CVT is still mint. Yamaha builds the best for sure.

Not a trail repair, glad there’s a 10 year belt warranty.

hard rides usually make you gotta replace them after a few years

That’s a nightmare. Hopefully you won’t have to do this often. You need to have a lot of faith in Yamaha. I do think they have a great product. Thanks for the video.

Most won't have to service for 1600 miles, but I can put that kind of mileage on in under 3 months and I see new RMAX owners driving them into the ground because they're so fun. I'm testing with Tinkseal lube, which I believe may be able to double the service period to 3K miles.

MassiveOverkill I would love to have one. There’s not one around here.

Thanks for showing the procedure. But why is the video so blurry?

Try refreshing, you may have watched it in SD when it was first released and processing.

Is there a video for doing this on a Rmax4? Thanks.

I bet you for them to uphold the warranty you have to do belt maintenance! True or false?
@MassiveOverkill2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. That 100K mile drivetrain warranty on your cars require you to change the oil at specific intervals. Same reasoning applies.

And even more, not sure they have honnored this warranty yet

Imagine doing that in the rain at night in the woods...

Good thing is, you shouldn't have to as Yamaha's aren't belt burners.
@kenp44644 жыл бұрын
That's the thing about the Yamaha's, you likely never will.

I hope I never have to....just bought the RMax 4

Just happened to me twice on the trail, first belt had 12000kn, maybe normal. The second had 900km!!!! Dealer's mecanic and the yamaha tech can t tell why this happen🤦🤦🤦 use to love my machine...now I have a hard time to trust it

Nice vid but earlier than needed. Just go ride the thing.
@MassiveOverkill4 жыл бұрын
Very true, but since I was doing the work anyway, I figured I'd document it. Bookmark it for when you'll need it in a year (you KNOW owners are going to put a ton of miles on this thing as fun as it is).
@kenp44644 жыл бұрын
@@MassiveOverkill For sure... really appreciate all the work you do to show the machine both here and on the Wolverine forum.

Are your screws really Torx as you are saying or are they 4mm Allens like on my Rmax2?
@MassiveOverkill Жыл бұрын
They're allens, I just use a torx bit
@Christopher-yh5lh4 жыл бұрын
How many hours do you have in that job - start to finish?
@MassiveOverkill4 жыл бұрын
A lot more than normal since I'm taking my time to document everything. In reality you should be able to get to the CVT on an RMAX2 in about 15 minutes. 20 for an RMAX4.

Can the shoulder bolsters be removed
@MassiveOverkill4 жыл бұрын
You have to cut them off. I'm sure you could insert a smaller tube and make it adjustable.
