The perfect demo for anyone starting with the RS and the presentation was 100% smooth and spot on. I don’t see that very often on YT. Great work, thanks very much.

Super! Thanks a lot for the feedback. I tried making it beginner friendly while at the same time throwing in a few intermediate/advanced tricks in there.

Nice video Sonny, good and clear explanation , while I'm considering to get an RS7000 I'm already getting familiar with this machine through your videos.

I think this machine would be a worthwhile addition to your setup! RS7000 sequencing plus MC909 sound can be nothing but straight fire! Thanks for your support! 💪

would love to see something like this, but how to go from patterns to pattern chain to song mode
@johannes.nieuwenhuizen Жыл бұрын
I'm planning on a video on that but I'll say now already that it's not the most fun way to use the RS. The magic, IMO, really happens when playing it like an instrument.

Excellent tutorial. I've recently acquired an Rm1x and most of this workflow still applies.

I'm glad it is helpful. I think the other tutorials on the channel have some overlap with your machine too. Enjoy the RM1x!

@sonfx first time I've actually turned it on for more than 10 minutes this year. Just up to the clock shift of high hats... I'm going by ear on filters as didn't see you set any, so I'm assuming possibly default of the sound. But got the same version, mildly different sounds ;) See where to take it then.. Funny, you said project available at the end, It's ok, we had a create along session!

do you have some information about how to use loops i cant remember how it was in the rs7000 after the import / load the loop its a hard one to set it up in the right way.....
@johannes.nieuwenhuizen Жыл бұрын
It's just a matter of manually setting the start and end points and auditioning until it sounds right. I used a few loops in the Abstrctd pack and did it just like that. I would also suggest to record the loop with the audio ins instead of importing it.

Good video. Cool machine for sure. Like that 90’s menu diving workflow. Flipping through menus never bothered me much. Does the machine have multiple outs?
@johannes.nieuwenhuizen Жыл бұрын
Hey Morgan, thanks a lot for your comment. The ratio between menu diving and hands-on control is perfect on the RS, imo. Yes, there's an expansion board for it. I have it installed and it gives 8 outs all in all, plus optical and digital i/o.
@morganwebster6636 Жыл бұрын
I was looking and the prices are more than reasonable right now. What did the out expansion cost you if you don’t mind?
@johannes.nieuwenhuizen Жыл бұрын
@@morganwebster6636 300,- IIRC, but this is pre inflation. They go for much more now. Try looking for an RS with the board installed already, it will likely be better value for money.

It's quite important I'm afraid. It gives access to various filters that you can't (to my knowledge) access in any other way. Maybe try to see if you can get it fixed! Cheers

@infiniteheight bad news... 😓 But I saw that the most big part of editing it's possible to do with knobs on the panel, isn't it? Which are the options that lacks from panel that can be customed with that menu diving? Thanks again for your help 🙏
