ONE SUGGESTION - In order to minimize potential leaks - or worse - a complete sudden blow-off... On all that hard piping that terminates to flare nuts, leave a small spiral / coil of tubing before each connection to act as a shock absorber for the flare fitting connection. Regardles of the hull rigidity, there will be flexing between all those components. You don't want that movement to transfer to those flare fittings.

That makes sense

They should use O Ring seals like auto A/C so for any reason it became loose the seal would still be 100%. For safety sake a sniffer under the cowl that shuts down the main supply valve at the tank.

The Mythbusters got a car from the junkyard to run on hydrogen in one of their episodes. It’s not a complicated process. The “myth” was that you could run your car on water by separating the hydrogen molecules from oxygen in “H2O”…. The myth got busted because it took just as much energy to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen as you got when you burned the hydrogen in the car.

Wow thanks for the video. The H2 unit is certainly a prototype. I've never seen MPa (Mega-pascals) in anything that was made for the general public. 70 MPa is over 10,000 PSI. That's a serious bomb in the bilge. You'd better think twice about bringing that friend that smokes!

Thousands of Fuel Cell Cars are incorporating 70MPa Tanks all over the world. Ever heard of something bad happening?
@robtopham60959 ай бұрын
@@nonameHER0 My understanding of fuel cells is that the hydrogen is not consumed like gas is in an internal combustion engine which (I assume is what Yamaha H2 has made). It's rather like a battery and produces electricity through a chemical reaction using hydrogen and that drives an electric motor. Yes I have heard of hydrogen fires but not under this extreme pressure. To be honest I would love for someone to figure out both production of hydrogen (with our fossil fuels) and safe burning of hydrogen. It's the perfect fuel source. Its byproducts are heat and H2O.

This engine seems to me to be just a marketing campaign, hydrogen as we all know is a highly explosive gas, Yamaha (marine) is an extremely conservative company and I really don't believe it would put a product like this on the market. Hydrogen that is there is not liquid but gaseous as it is difficult to store liquid nitrogen. Does anyone here believe that this bunch of fiber tubes and cylinders can withstand the marine environment for 10 years without risk?
