Man I so love this bike, never thought I’d own one but have a 2009 1700 and it’s the original Vance and Hines vmax1700 build for the cs-1 exhaust system. The thing is amazing.

Yeah. I would think the same thing because my 1990 Vmax 1200 was also going to 100 in 3 seconds. Once my eyeballs went back into shape, it just did not feel that fast. Then, I blew past my exit. Happened so much!!

. 109km/h is 67.7 mph, and then your speedometer dropped almost instantly to 85km/h, which is 52.8 mph. A: I can tell by the video that you were not going anywhere near 67.7mph. B: 52.8 mph is more like it. C: The speed sensor is located in the REAR ABS, D: ALL Gen2 VMax's speedometers show faster than you're actually going, and E: I know because i own one, a 2014.

My is 2014 too !! , yes the speed sensor is located on the abs sensor front and back , but I'm no sure is take the average speed compare in both wheels abs sensors ,or just on the back . now I have a 240 rear tire , I will do a test again to see the difference . and I would like to check the speed with a external gps to see the real speed , normally all the bikes and car or not exactly the speed they claim on the speedometer

No, he was just spinning....The speedo reads off the transmission output shaft once the bike is in gear the same as all modern yamahas. The wheel speed sensors are for ABS only on these bikes...thats why when i do a burnout sitting still my gauge reads 50+ mph while not moving. You can also remove the wheel and spin it over and it will read MPH when the wheel isnt even there

@@jacobhendrickson8935 Only modern “cars” so far, with uneven firing sub 4 cylinder engines, are the Morgan Three Wheeler with a Harley V-Twin, the VW XL Sport with a Ducati V-Twin, and the Honda Talon with a 270 degree twin. All three sound awesome. Fiat almost pulled it off with the Twinair, but they sadly used a 360 degree crank which is even firing and sounds ass.

with my setup on my 85 vmax I could probably get a nice 0 to 60 between 2.8 and 3 seconds. vboost at 3000rpm is amazing. my dad who is a way more experienced rider was finally able to get that front end 2 feet off the ground but those front forks really can't handle it but it definitely took a few 10ths of a second of second in my 0 to 100 times. personally think it will do a 100 in less then 7 second vs earlier at sub 7 seconds

Looking at how the speedo behaved, I'd say it's hooked up to the rear, and there was tire spin. So video is inaccurate.

@@mhalcon The speed sensor is located on the front sprocket and after the rear wheel stops spinning, youre not accelerating anymore and the speed drops. Of course the speedometer will show a higher value because the rear tire is spinning

@@Solify750 thanks for the comment!! the speed sensor is not on the sprocket on the gen2 Vmax . the speed sensor is located on the front wheel , is the abs sensor , the abs send the signal to the abs module and them to the pcm and after that to the cluster . have a abs on the rear wheel too, so maybe the system take the average or not , I'm going to do a test , I will make a video recording the cluster doing a burn out , lets see what happen
