Great sounding pipes man. Driving like that I'm surprised you have lived this long. There's no way I would trust those cars to go flying between them like that. But, I have to admire your courage lol

Sounds good! My wife wanted a V-Star 250 before she saw the Grom. I would've have ridden it some myself, too! I always liked them more than the Honda Rebel.

I would leave the baffles off. Are they off in this video?

One thing that might be an advantage to you in traffic is a louder horn. I put one of those small air horns on mine. I get noticed much better with it

Hi Erik, very nice video… I bought my WE drag pipes and they recommend to re-jet the carb. Did you re-jet your carb?? If you did, could you share how? Thans Erik!!!
@ford120tractor10 жыл бұрын
I did not rejet. I did not like the baffles that came with the pipes. I bought some more aggressive baffles from a small bike shop in PA. The baffles are are 9" by 1& 3/4" and I wrapped the in fine fiberglass cloth. I have seen the same ons at eBay. They should cost less than twenty dollars. Changing the baffles will allow you to customize the sound, and not mess with your carbs witch is a bad idea.

Thank you Erik. I will look for those baffles, I am expecting a great sound from this pipes!!!

Great video. Panama looks like a beautiful country, but lots of traffic where you ride. :) How long have you lived there?
@ford120tractor9 жыл бұрын
I have lived here for 4 years. The trafic is just in the city. I ride to the beach all the time and the country is nice.

Looks like you have to have eyes in the back of your head when you go to work. :) That was a great perspective video, makes you feel your part of the ride. I would like to see your camera mount, and what camera do you use.Those West Eagle pipes sound good. Was that after you added the extra fibreglass or when you got them? I certainly can see you need those pipes to let people know you are close otherwise they would just cut you off.

Just wanted to pass on, changed the sprockets on mine today to 17/40, made all the difference in the world. Now just to get the exhaust/baffles ordered :D

If you want good power under normal driving conditions with drag pipes careful selection of the proper baffles will be necessary.

How did you mount the camera?

I use a gopro with a monopod. The pipes made way too much noise when I first installed them. After I inserted the baffle with fiberglass cloth wrapping the column eas much better.

Omg I think I'm going to buy this motorcycle as my first bike, pipes sound like a Harley lol. It's been 7 years since you posted this video do you still have this beauty?
@ford120tractor4 жыл бұрын
No I sold it when I left Panama. It was a nice motorcycle. I got 80 mpg and it would do 70mph on level ground. It sounded great!

You should watch the one titled 250 bobber. That was my favorite color for the bike.

Erik Lund yes I saw your other videos but bobber is not my thing however color was awesome.

The baffles are installed in all of my videos. Engine with drag pipes do not do well without baffles unless the engine is at a high rpm. There is a big loss of power in the mid range due to a rich condition caused by shock wave rebound. The baffles keep the shock wave away fro the exhaust valves. Without the baffles, under deceleration there will be a lot stumbling and back firing.

The video makes it look worse than it is. You could not drive like that in the states because the other drivers are not conditioned for it. In panama and the rest of South America, lane splitting is normal.
@CruisingDesert10 жыл бұрын
Well, up until a few years ago you could do this in California. Recently however, because people kept hitting car mirrors at ridiculous speeds and dying. You can only go about the flow of traffic. Just enough to keep the bike from overheating. Because older bikes would overheat if they sat still for too long. So they allowed bikes to go in between cars in traffic or at stops. you still can, just not 60 miles per hour through stopped traffic like people kept doing.
