Hi Alistair, thats a grand wee video, Yamaha don't make it hard to get to the battery and that is a very reasonable price for the battery itself. I learnt the lesson about the connections on a battery the hard way, you described exactly what happened to me, my ring welded to the spanner and I carry the scar on my finger to this day. I havent worn a ring since and that was nearly 50 years ago. ATB Big Dave Scotland

Unfortunately Dave, you had to learn the hard way. From memory I think we were shown a short film in the Govt Training centre highlighting all the gruesome consequences of simple mistakes. It obviously made a lasting impression on me. Thanks for commenting.

Okay, gotta go try this in a minute. I replaced battery last year and no problem, but now I want it off for the winter. But the fuker is somehow stuck so I came to take a look at what you do 👍

The XJ,s do need a good battery as soon as they start deteriorating mine wont start without a jump start :)

Yes Phil, a good battery makes all the difference. I have an Optimate charger but it's hard to keep everything going all the time.
