The chamber seems to open timbre up a bit - the SV's and YEV's always sounded a bit thin to me. Love the Whitner pegs. Jack is in a good place so the wireless gets tucked away from damage. The volume bypass is nice to have. Liking the differing color fingerboard/ stick and outer body. Really nice improvements!

I use my electric violin primarily to practice without bothering anyone. Could you please measure and compare the "acoustic" sound of the YEV and YEV Pro when used as a "silent" violin? i.e, not the sound level through the amplifier but the sound of the un-amplified strings through the air. Does the resonant body make it louder?

It's unlikely to be substantial because there are no holes. Most of the volume of an acoustic string instrument is helmholtz resonation, which requires that.

Also interested in this - the addition of a "semi-hollow" body may increase sound. On the fence about which to get right now, and this would be info to help pull the trigger.

Please can you advise on the shoulder rests for the YEV? I have the YEV-5 but both my Wolf Forte & standard KUN constantly fall off whilst i'm playing, or slip down the wood piece because it's too thin to properly grip onto. Do you have this issue? Which shoulder rests are the best for the YEV? Is the wood piece thickness still the same on the new pro?

I don’t have a problem when I adjust my shoulder rest in a little bit so it has some tension on it.

what name brand strings do you have on the YEV Pro? I just purchased one, and it sounds awful. NOTHING like the one you are playing the string. I have it plugged into a Pro 8 Amp. No deep rich sound like I am hearing wrong. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to send it back from where I got it from online and get a refund ... again. Not having any luck getting a violin online this time around. I already returned a YEV (different color than My current one that works fine), and Realist Acoustic Electric Violin the same day that they arrived. This YRV Pro arrived today, and I was excited to play it at band rehearsal this evening, but the screeching sounds made that a no go. With it being the third one I would send back, they are making me pay the return shipping and handling charges. With inflation today, my fam needs to save as much of the finances as we can. Plus, I'd much rather be able to fix the problem and use it as inteneded, but I am at a loss as to what to do other than change the strings. If I do that, I would have to replace them again if the strings are not the problem. Someone PLEASE help me figure this out. My other YEV104 and YEV SV 104 work fine. The added pack and cords is a bit of a pain with the SV for gigging , but it sounds good. No squeals coming from the body in the middle of playing. In 3rd Position on the G and D strings souuns absolutely HORRIBLE on the new YEV104 Pro. What is UP with this violin?? Please help.
