That was a very fine review! It certainly is a marvel of accomplishment. Way, way above my skill set, but it would indeed be fun to tool around with for just one afternoon. :)

it's like a dream, my country charges 250% tax on every motorbike import, very unlucky. Nepal

I live in brazil, everything here have taxes, like a intel core i7 in Usa costs about 330 of dollars, here costs about 1700 reals... one chevrolet camaro in the usa costs 26.500 dollars, here costs 237.000 reals, it's a price of a medium house

Why they dont cover the bottom of the bike where the catalytic converter is, cant be that expensive to put a plastic cowl and make her look much cleaner when looking at t bike from t side

There might be a bike on a track that is slightly faster, but 99 percent of people would not be able to ride this bike to its potential on the street. If you could you would not have a licence after the first 3 days.

Actually it has parallel 4 cylinders.
@TrueDesire존7 жыл бұрын
Ronak shah well if the cylinders are on the same level, it's an inline engine (because well, they are inline of each other). and since '98 the R1 always had an inline engine. 998 cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve (titanium), DOHC, in-line four-cylinder, cross-plane crankshaft en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_YZF-R1

too much power for the streets. If you can't even be in 3rd gear then what's the point...There is no point to buy a bike that you will only use 10% of its capability on the streets...Its like having supermodel for girlfriend and only fk her once a month. I think R6 is way better for streets
@daithilacha16 жыл бұрын
Have to disagree with you there Ruben. I have a tweaked 2008 R1 which makes more than 180 rwp, and yes, you cant use anywhere near all its power in most any street situation without getting wiped out or losing ones licence. You can definitely use far more than 10% of its capabilities of course, like say 70% on a regular basis with little trouble, as long as one is experienced and use sound judgement.. The 600 ridden hard will also get you killed very quickly on todays busy roads, so that point of yours does not hold up. After all, it can do speeds approaching 170 mph !! But where the 1000 cc shines is the easy torque which actually makes the bike much nicer to ride with much less need to keep revving it up like the 600. No need to be dropping gears when passing cars and trucks, and just lugging out of corners or away from the lights is a breeze. I previously owned an R6, so speak from first hand knowledge. Been riding bikes now for 45 years !!!

You can use the power just don't get caught

@@daithilacha1 You've got a point; R6 is one of the least suitable bikes for street riding with its stratospheric revs
