Stick with it. It’s a game changer.

1234 abcd there are limitations on top of limitations but there are also infinite possibilities. It’s mono, So you can’t play chords using the chromatic function, but you can always bounce several tracks onto one, and then spice it up with some trigs and LFO. No time stretching is a really annoying one, so when you change the pitch the sample will play at a faster/slower speed. The 8 track thing is annoying too, but again, you can resample and bounce multiple tracks onto one if needed. From my POV these issues haven’t stifled my creativity at all. I’ve become much more creative with the machine and come to think about composition differently. It depends whether you have time master the machine (which I haven’t yet but am trying to do) or whether you want something that you buy today master in a week.
@RileyGein4 жыл бұрын
The 8 track limitation is also somewhat remedied by the fact that trig locks let you use multiple samples on a single track. Also some really fun tricks like running midi out back into midi in and using the 9 midi tracks on the bottom as extra LFOs
@ChrisFeeney4 жыл бұрын
I bought one and I am also crap at it, and by crap I mean, I make a nice 8 bar loop and realise I can't be arsed structuring it into a track, I then switch it off, and repeat the process every couple of days 😁 I have also repeated this process with the rest of my studio gear, but On the upside ...it all looks impressive 😁

@@WeAreDaftt I held back for years because all I heard was "such a steep learning curve" but that's such a lie. At least digitakt isn't hard at all. Just a process of learning all the simple techniques and where stuff is. I was on an MPC for a while and that's ridiculous with all the menu diving. Elektron is extremely fun and it's pretty basic commands tabs. And the sound....!
@whit3devil Жыл бұрын
@@ultrajayme just bought it too, its literally so intuitive to use lmao. i watched few tutorials before buying and was able to use it like it instantly, efficiently. even if i didnt know some stuff it was easy to figure out on my own or look up on the net/in the manual
