Closing in on Fried so that means he will sign with another team in an hour or so.

Max Fried slotting behind Cole, signing Bregman for 3rd which would slide Jazz over to either 2nd or CF, and then signing Alonso for first base would cost less than Soto. Then perhaps you could swap Stroman for Bellinger who would play in the OF would make a good offseason.
@dareferee876014 күн бұрын
We need to sign Fried and Burnes cause along with Rodon and Cole they will be the best rotation in baseball, championship rotation like Cone, clemens, petitte and Wells
@Requinix1714 күн бұрын
I think Stroman would be more likely to be on the chopping block than Nestor
@mrfncreol14 күн бұрын
Stromans contract is killing his trade bait.18 mil. Yankees would have to eat most of it to trade him. Nestor is coming to his last year of arbitration which will probably be 7-8 mil. Much easier to move him.

I would be weary of a big deal for a power pitcher with declining k rates. Fried's stuff will age better.

I will say deal Stroman out. Yankee needs more left handed pitching and Nestor can be a valuable piece in bullpen and can be left handed starter games too.

I think it’s time to think 1991 and2, step back from free agents this year, keep your powder dry, develop youth and sign free agents next year

Greetings, Yankees fans. Some of your comments are a little pessimistic about your franchise and its prestige and I think it really has a lot to do with losing a really big player. The wisdom of signing the worlds largest sports contract aside, I have some thoughts on this. I'm a Braves fan so let me give you an outsiders perspective. This isnt going to be hate for you guys. I have great respect for the Yankees. This is still the most successful sports franchise in U.S. history. For the longest time it seemed like the Yankees signed whoever they decided to because they were also willing to pay what wad needed. What doesn't get enough attention was their player development and evaluation. The Yankees consistently have a top farm to draw on and they frequently sign their top talent to longterm contracts. So whats changed? I would say a few things. The less important point, the willingness to spend money. There's just more competition. The Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, Astros, Rangers Braves and others have increased their spending beyond inflation. Yes, prestige means a lot but so does money. The more important change: teams have simply gotten better at player development closing the gap with teams like the Yankees. Teams like the Dodgers, Braves and Giants have vastly improved in these areas. Hell, if it wasn't for this, the Tampa Bay Rays would look like a minor league team in the majors. I dont think the Yankees are getting worse. The competition is getting better. The other teams had more room for improvement than the Yankees. I'm not going to say the Yankees dont have any course correction to do but they are still a top destination for the best talent to land.

will be tough to find trade partners for Stro and Nestor. I believe they will both be on the squad in 2025 and can't have too many starting pitchers especially these days with all the arm injuries to the hard tossers.

I can’t help but feel like the Yankees franchise has lost so much prestige that the top free agents just don’t want to play there anymore. The only way they can sign anybody is to overpay, and they just don’t seem willing to increase the payroll. The only way they will win is by developing young players in my opinion.
@GregoryWayne-zo2ws14 күн бұрын
I have often thought the same. The culture, mindset and management might need an overhaul.

I think a lot of players think they can fleece the Yankees for more money and Cashman doesn’t bend too much.

That’s why 2017 was the best! We didn’t learn from that season at all. Astros cheated or not we didn’t hit but we were a game away from the World Series. It’s been down hill from there.

@PinstripeTerritory You are right, his ERA is not as bad as I thought. However, he had only started 28 times in a season 4 times since 2017. He also has an ERA of 5.10 in the playoffs.
