@Yannie, these so-called locticians out here are making the loc journey soooo difficult. Finding a REAL and KNOWLEDGEABLE one is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. A majority of us who watch you KNOW how simple it is. However, most of us can't do our own hair so we are at the mercy of these people. I'm only one year in and I'm ready to start over. I started from 1 inch coils and now ear/neck length. I've had locs pop off already🤦🏽♀️ For some reason half of my head grows outside the loc, but none of the 3 locticians I've used seem to understand that that's a thing. They immediately assume hair loss and want to do all kinds of treatments. I say I need this side crocheted in for a retwist but they don't listen. Then tell me I need to retwist every 4-6 weeks. I'm so sick of the commercialization of the loc community 😫

Omg. I'll try to do a video to help you with that. Omg I'm so sorry to read this. Praying your loc journey gets better

Yannie served as a guide when I started my locs 7 years ago. Common sense, intuition, and love for natural healthy hair has kept me.

I watch & enjoy every one of Yannie video's & I don't have locs. I am a natural twist girl & I apply her advice to myself. I apply all the time "don't overthink." If I ever get locs I would only see Yannie & Jimmy. ❤

Yay! @ comments open! Before I found your channel I was doing too damn much cuz of social media with my locs and suffered the consequences. That DIY flaxseed gel was the worst!!! During the pandemic I was 17 yrs Loc'd and sweeping up balls of hair. I had two family members battling cancer who each got COVID at some point. Lockdown with them and children and getting news of friends and neighbors who were passing away... Was a lot. Eventually I realized the balls of hair I was sweeping up daily were mine.😮 Crown almost gone, what locs remained were hanging on strings. I was prepared tho. Remembered everything you said in all your videos. Could be stress, age, hormones, all the above. I worked hard emotionally not to fret about the sudden hair loss. No running to use products to fix it. Instead, I continued the routine you suggested and paid attention to my water intake, vitamins, chose better foods and stepped up stress management activities and spiritual practice and my hair regrew on its own and when the time came I used a crochet hook as my hair grows away from the loc. Other than that I just left it alone and kept it moisturized with simple oils and the scalp clean. It's down my back again from the crown, give thanks. Everyone who compliments me on my locs or asks questions about locs gets sent here to your channel. 🙏🏾🥹😭❤️ Continued divine good health and prosperity to you, your family and your clients Yanni! Thank you 🎉🎉🎉

Beautiful! I wish you loved on microlocs so I could receive your energy/blessing. However, listening to your experience/tips and having a loctician who focuses on the health of my locs and respects how I want a simple yet effective journey is a plus!

But I would be greatly honored to have someone who loves what they are doing (like you) to really get me right lol. I have been doing them myself since I decided the person doing them was tooooooo heavy handed and was snatching bald spots and waaaay over charging me (sorry for my many comments) I have been watching your videos since my first set of locs back in 2020.

I’m going to build up the courage to call one day and save up some coins so I can fly from the west coast to the east coast to have my scalp blessed by you and Jimmy!♥️

Retwist every month, bleaching,different products and trimming the fuzzy 😂. Until I watched Yannie and longer have my locs done but allow my locs to grow organically and less is more 🙃

Yannie’s advice helped to grow my grand baby hair and of course my beautiful locs … I’ve never sat in her chair or anyone’s chair but I can’t wait to ! I cringe when I think of her retiring before I get to😂😂

That was me a few months ago…. I was overthinking too much. I called Yanni freaking out and she told me “my hair is healthy and to leave it alone”. And I listened. I appreciate Yanni for her honest advice she is a real one. Yanni you told me you would upload this video too 😂

I feel those 9 month people are confused about the interlocked/retwisted new growth which is often denser than the budded twists/coils. If you look at most of my locs the interlocked portion is skinnier. It's not damaged
@YannietheLocologistКүн бұрын
If done incorrectly interlocking can damage hair

Hi queen happy holiday. I love watching your videos. In fact since it been almost 3 years. I started locking my hair. Every since I started see the hairstyle put gel in my hair. I knew then that was a big no - no. And the when I started watching your videos. But question. I been stop twisting and now my hair look healthy, but I have alot of new growth and so now what. Should I go to hairstyle and the twist or leave it along
