A few years back I got a free used mower that needed the carb cleaned. It was one of those that requires a thin wrench. I’ve always kept odd little tools that come with things like furniture you put together so had a thin wrench but it wasn’t correct size so I filed it to the correct size! Later on I saw a pack of a few thin wrenches at Dollar Tree & I grabbed them just for such issues. After I watched the scooter video, I texted the link to a friend in her 70’s. Just wanted to show her how neat it was but really didn’t expect her to watch. Way later she finally replied & said she had watched half of it so far & it was interesting! When she was married & raising her kids her husband would sometimes request that she help him with something he was working on on a car & lets just say it was not a good experience for her. So she never imagined she could enjoy watching a mechanic work & maybe even actually learn a bit in the process! 😊

In my city of MIssissauga, Ontario, Canada...we used to be able to bag grass clippings and the city would pick them up weekly, make compost and then sell the compost. Great service. Now, that service has been discontinued. We are all encouraged to simply cut the grass and leave the clippings to degrade back into the soil. Given most mowers use mulching blades, this actually works well. Once we got over the city taking away a service we had grown used to receiving, it is actually an intelligent policy to have implemented.

Good to see young men like yourself are still out there! Most kids your age have no interest in fixing anything. My two boys love working with me in the shop. My son started learning with me around 4 or 5 years old now today he can weld rebuild carburetors rebuild a small engine along with alot of other stuff. Now at the age of 11 we have started building his first car for him when he turns 16! My advice is when your out and you see an old lawn mower or something with an engine out in the trash bring it home and take it apart and experiment see if you can make it come alive. Start with something that dont matter so if you mess up it's no big deal! Follow your dreams young man if you want something chase it! Also your soon going to be in high school in a few years look into tech school! Not sure if its offered in your area but it is a very good way for young men like you to learn how to work on things and learn a very valuable trade! Many different classes that give you the opportunity to learn alot everything from diesel mechanics to welding, auto mechanics, autobody, and the list goes on definitely something to look into! But for now follow your dreams!

Got sick of all the interlocks.. the parking brake module got replaced as well. Got sick of it.. wired around things as they failed or were suspect.. How many starter relays have I been thru? Starter kept getting stuck between poles, so I leave it just a tad loosely bolted down which seems to work so far. Some clearance is just a tad too tight.. The Deck is very Weak.. the welded deck version would be much better structurally but with an even far WORSE Air Flow Design.

I bought and older model of the "Time Cutter" just to get me through one season so I wouldn't have to buy a new mower in the spring. I've had to weld it up all over for being worn out but it's still cutting so I use it for the rough part of the yard so as not to tear up my new one. I had to change out a blown head gasket. The drives are sealed units, I asked a dealer about the life time and he told me he had never had one returned with an issue in the drive units other than a belt issue. The first few times I mowed with a Z turn my hands were worn out from holding on but after I got used to it that went away.

I look forward to every video. You do a fantastic job. On those old tires, dry rotted, rim leaks, small seeping leaks, may I suggest you lay in a supply of TireJect. Unlike the many "popular brands" this stuff just works without fouling up the insides of the tires or the wheels. As a last resort, used TireJect on my dry rotted, rim leaking, and eventually un mounted tires on my 1996 Craftsman tractor with all flats, that sat 4 years in a dirt floored shed. The machine isn't worth the even the cost of tubes. I'll be darned if they sealed up and have remained fully inflated over a year...still in the shed.

She told us what it was doing and we immediately went to see if it had a float bowl solenoid valve and sure enough it did. We clamped off the gas line, pulled the solenoid, turned the key and it did nothing. We told her to buy a new one because we did not have the tools to "fix it". She ordered it, her husband put it on and it fired up immediately. She thinks we are the smartest guys ever. It's mainly because we watch all your videos but what she doesn't know won't hurt her. Your friend will love the bagger when it comes to doing leaves - it looks like you've literally vacuumed the leaves up it leaves the grass so clean. I bought the 55" version with the Kawasaki engine about four or five years ago; have around 60 hours on it now (there might be a cutout for an hour meter in the crosspiece behind the seat - it's an option on the later ones at least). I found the trick to driving it is to hold one tiller bar steady and move the other back and forth to control the direction - it reduces the PIO (pilot induced oscillations) that otherwise make you look like a drunken sailor trying to cut the grass.

Deflate the tire before you glue it so their isnt any pressure on that sealant trying to adhere

I thought the same thing. Probably would have worked. If only he could hear us!

Nice dismount Ole Twinkle-Toes! Great mid week surprise, another fun little project completed! My little shop here in Georgia is at 102 degrees when I open the door. 90 would be like air conditioning.

bruh I've been dying to get one of those. And I can't find anything broken or not below $900, I wish I had that kinda luck.

probably came off the assembly line like that, and the dealer never even looked under the deck

my thought too ! or dealer set up before delivery ? $ 6000.00 mower/ no way the old man did it. avoid that dealer

So nice to see the old shop and yard, the new shop is nice but I miss the old one.

I can mow with a tractor all day long I get on a zero turn and I start hitting things
@brianellman Жыл бұрын
Yes. those zero turns are a blast. used a John Deere and a Walker. Walker doesn’t like wet grass at all. and small stick I found out. your a kick in the pants. Keep it up. :-)

I think you should watch goonzquad, they could use half the stuff you rebuild, and need a repair man.

My lord this machine is hardly used, or it looks that way, definitely hasn't been abused.

I was thinking the same thing. And for 400$ I think? seems like a good deal for some work and elbow grease. People where I live would ask 1000$.

Well what a nice surprise for my Wednesday, a Tuesday Mustie1 video. Highly appreciate your efforts and the resulting videos. Cheers.

"I called Tech Support but got no answer" LOL. Don't call us, we'll call you. And highly likely from a 3rd world outfit of experts.

I feel ya on the heat. I live in south alabama right on the gulf. 100% humidity and trip digit heat from June to September. Was 105 today. Working on mowers outside all day is not for the faint of heart...
