Pretty convinced that dog owner was Martin Simon and it was one of his many unsuccessful murder attempts upon you. Hence his ignorance and no apology. Great video! Looked like a truly gorgeous walk. One of my favourite toys was a playset called Tootsy Town. Kinda like flat cabbage patch dolls living in a plastic facade existence, creepy, but I loved it. Coincidentally also on the 'changing faces' theme: I had the Barbie family, which was Barbie and her 3 sisters ranging in ages from 4 to 17. I discovered that with a bit of force you could pop their heads off and swap them round. I also liked to play 'Casualty' with my dolls, drawing wounds on them with felt-tip and running them over with my toy Landrover. One time I was reaching under my bed for a pen I'd dropped and out rolled a Barbie head with all its hair chopped off, felt-tip injuries and a spider crawling on it - it scared the s**t out of me. I realise all this makes me sound like a psychopath, but I am not one and am actually remarkably well adjusted.

I would love to see a re-enactment of Casualty deaths with Barbie toys. You should make a youtube channel that commits solely to this purpose.

Haha your comment reminded me of my Barbies and their horrific lives, spent getting chewed by my dog, and then having prosthetic limb replacements made out of cardboard by me. Reckon our barbies would’ve got on with each other really well, what with their shared history of horrible accidents. Also had “barbie Kruger” who had her face mashed by my toy-mauling pup, and was therefore renamed due to her likeness to Freddie. Unfortunately I couldn’t make a prosthetic replacement for her face, and sadly didn’t know your head swapping trick at the time. Poor old Barbie Kruger. 😢

That was a nice walk Marek. Apart from the 'Walk-Spoiler / Spacer Invader' people. There's more to that than meets the eye. 🤔 Was he the 'Landowner' & was he spying on you, trying to get you to move on? He could see you were having a Picnic, why not just smile & walk past & leave you alone? 😳 Common sense & courtesy would tell you to put your Dog on a lead if people are around having food. 😡 Don't let it bother you, these people don't know any different ! 😆 My favourite toys were my Star Wars figures. Your mention of He-man reminded me of the She-ra figures I had as a kid, thought they were the coolest things ever at the time! But also loved any stuffed animal toys - I desperately want a pet dog, so my mum would give me plenty of dog teddies as a sort of replacement for the real thing, and I also wanted to be a vet when I got older so I’d spend my days bandaging these teddies, operating on them lol and putting them in laundry basket “cages” while I practiced my veterinary skills 😅🐾 Sounds preferable tho after hearing about the crazy dog u met during this walk! Oh my....just got back this morning from a week on IOW & did part of this walk! Even saw that Sea Shanty Yarmouth poster on the way & guess what song we all started to sing...yep, none other than What shall we do with a Drunken Sailor! Great minds eh? As for dogs, my other family members absolutely love them to pieces & have spent most of the week stopping every dog of every breed along the way for a tickle. Me? NO! Tried to get to Bembridge beach, but it seems most of the IOW at the mo is being dug up by men in hard hats & viz jackets. Couldn't negotiate how to get down there, followed diversion signs & ended up behind a huge truck which was stuck in the tiny car park at the Crab and Lobster wondering how the hell we were going to get out of there! So didn't get to see much of your hometown this time round! Fave Toy? Sweetshop, every Xmas morning except for the one I passed out flat aged 5 with the mumps whilst opening it..... x J x

Before you showed the water colour I was thinking you should have done a picture of them standing there, though admittedly difficult with the dog situation. I absolutely love the picture, and you made it look much nicer than the still it came from. I mainly had toy cars as a child, but I hated people in them so if the car came with a person in the driver's seat they would always get ripped out (something to do with it being MY car so I'LL drive it, perhaps). I remember a friend of mine had a massive box of 'light infantry men', small rigid plastic figurines of soldiers with raised guns, all of them identical, I could see no point in their existence, one day we burnt the box and melted quite a lot of the figures in front of his gas fire in the front room, then realised how much smoke hung in the air just before his mum came in. Not a good idea, don't do that kids.

Thanks for that great insight into an area I was planning on exploring a bit at the end of last summer but never got around to it. ..'Hoping to have a walkabout there in the next few days along the coast, see the trees graveyard and up to Newtown creek from the less accessible side. My only concern now ...is stumbling across man with spotty pants and his slobbery dog!

Dogs and owners eh? To quote Mike The Cool Person from The Young Ones ‘If you can't keep control of your socks, you shan't be allowed to have any! By the way, are you learning any piano chords at the moment? If so, how many? Nice walk. I proudly used my lovely new green T shirt at the weekend on a section of The Cotswold Way. Along it was the actual hill they use to roll that giant cheese and fools throw themselves down there to be the first to get it. Man, it was beyond steep!

The T-shirt looked cool. I am hoping to do the Cotswold Way sometime this year soon. I am learning the piano using Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course and also the Complete Keyboard player by Kenneth Baker. Hope the Costwold Way is good.

Hmmmm one of my favourite toys was this little doll that was kind of like woody from toy story in that it had a plastic head heands and feet but cloth body arms and legs. Her name was the same as mine and thats why my mom got it for me. Also a stuffed black cat named Coal, and a gummy bug oven thing. ALSO my draginball z action figures for sure. and pokemon as well. and sailor moon dolls. okay im done.

It would be interesting to see you re do the around the Island walk again (perhaps in a clockwise direction this time) and maybe look at alternatives routes to avoid the built up areas ? Just a thought. Scalextric probably 🏁 Another fab walk !

What a shame about that man and his dog. It seems some people don't realize their actions affect others. Selfish?.....ignorrant?.....or just bloody mindedness? I did this walk a couple of weeks ago whilst visiting my mum on the I.O.W. Started in Freshwater , completed the walk and ended back in Yarmouth having just missed the bus. A lovely walk beyond the tree graveyard. Highlight was observing a minutes silence at the Cool Dudes Sandwich Memorial trough. Sadly , some miscreant had stolen the brass plaque put up by the IOW council to mark the rape and consumption of the sandwich. How low can you get. I suggest the council not use brass next time as just too tempting to low life.

I watched this earlier before work(I'm about to do my second nightshift of three in a row). I'm still buzzing after Friday so that's keeping up my morale. 😁 That looked like a great walk apart from the dog slob and harassment .😒🤢 My fave toy as a kid was the mighty lights alive. I also had loads of barbie and Sindy's which I made little clothes for. Hmm, sounds familiar...

Around 4% of my encounters with dog walkers are very similar to that one. I'd like to do the Isle of Wight coast walk, is it the kind of place where people get upset about a little tent pitched a bit off the path?

I just could not get over the bloke literally stood right in front of me and shouted for five minutes in a completely empty field. It must be some weird inbuilt alpha male thing. I think you could wild camp the island if you gave yourself a bit of time to find the space. The bit between Seaview to Cowes on the East side would be a bit trickier as it is much more densely populated.

Shame you had to deal with the BMW driver walker equivalent on your hike, as it looked like a nice few hours stroll, but then I suppose this helps with the training what with you being part of the Liechtenstein Guard. With regard to favourite toys, as I am a child of the 70s, that would have to be my action man/Bionic man stuff which I have attempted to rebuy over the years for my collection of interesting stuff, to say the prices now are expensive for them would be an understatement but I cannot keep away from them whilst looking on eBay and the like.

A fact filled fest of an amble, which I am assuming, was going so well that the book author was also the dog owner, seeking to destroy your fun? Childhood toy was the Matchbox Race n Chase car game for families that couldn't stretch h to a Scalectrix. Hours of fun speeding a race car in a figure of 8.....

I wish I could somehow show how massive and empty the field was, and what a weird decision it was to stand two metres directly in front of me and start shouting to his friends who were further away than I was. I think it might be some in built deep resentment that someone else was enjoying themselves in peace, and he had to put a stop to it. I should have just asked him 'Why the f**k are you standing in front of me, when I am sat trying to eat my lunch in a completely empty field?'
