The sun rising from the west makes a lot of sense. If the rotation of the earth slows to the point that it stops and then changes direction and slowly begins to speed back up we will have (as I commented in the earlier videos re: Dajjaal from this series) that we could possibly have "a day like a year, then a month, then a week, etc." just as the time would be at the time of Dajjaal. When we consider that the major signs will fall in quick succession this appears to tie in too. Interestingly, the idea of rotation slowing to the point that it stops and change direction and then speeds up in the opposite direction also fits with our current understanding of orbits/physics. Nonetheless,this is merely my conjecture on the ahadeeth. Allah knows best what is to occur. May Allah keep us safe and steadfast and protect us from the fitaan of the final days.

Episode 8 Notes: The Final Signs Surah Al Kahf and Bani Israel Surah Al Kahf speaks about the Yahud being given power twice on Earth by Allah SWT. The Surah mentions how each time they are given power, they will spread corruption on the Earth. This will lead to them loosing that power and the 2nd time they lose it, will be the final time they ever have power on Earth. For the past 1300 years, Islamic scholars interpreted the Ayahs in Surah Al Kahf, to assume these two times were historical, meaning the first time they lost power was, when the original Temple of Solomon was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. The 2nd time was when the Romans destroyed the 2nd temple. However, the Qur’an itself never mentions both times as having occurred in the past. Rather only one instance of them having power is mentioned in the past. Therefore this has led some Modern Islamic scholars to interpret that, the Yahud will have one more chance at being powerful in the land. But, they will spread corruption and then loose that power. With the creation of the state of Israel 100 years ago, these modern Islamic scholars, interpret the 2nd time as referring to the current political climate. This leads them to believe that, the Yahud will lose Israel in the future, to the Muslims. Although, it is important to mention that, this is not the classical opinion of Islamic scholars. The 3 Earthquakes The Hadiths mention 3 major earthquakes are going to occur, the likes of which humanity has never experienced before. No chronology is given so, we don’t know when they will occur in relation to the other major signs. One will occur in the west, one in the East and another in Jaziratul Arab. It is not mentioned if Allah SWT will directly cause these 3 earthquakes or if they will occur due to mankind’s own actions, such as for example as a consequence of nuclear warfare. The Dukhan (The Smoke) The Dukhan is actually mentioned by Allah SWT in the Qur’an, in Surah Dukhan Ayah 10. The Hadith on the other hand, have no authentic additional information about the Dukhan. In Ayah 10 we are told to, “Wait until a day comes when the skies will be full of a smoke. The smoke will be present everywhere in the sky and it will envelop mankind”. No chronology is given so, we don’t know when this will occur in relation to the other major signs. One theory by modern scholars is that, the Dukhan could potentially be a consequence of nuclear warfare. There is a Dua in the Qur’an that can be used to protect oneself from the Dukhan Transliteration: Rabbanak shif an-nal aa-za-ba inna mu’mi-noon Translation: “Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed we are the believers.” - Surah Dukhan Ayah 12 The Sun Rising from the West Surah Al An’am Ayah 158 implicitly hints towards this major sign. The Ayah mentions how, when some of the signs of Qiyamah come, “accepting Islam at that time is of no use and it won’t benefit you”. It is the Hadith that confirm this Ayah is linked to the Sun rising from the West. The Prophet SAW mentioned the Sun rising from the West and then recited Ayah 158 thus linking the two. The Hadith are explicit on this sign of Qiyamah. In another Hadith, the Prophet SAW stated that “the first sign of Qiyamah will be the Sun Rising from the West and then right after it at Salaat Al Duha time, the Dabbat Al Ard will come”. The Prophet SAW stated, that these two signs are linked and one will come straight after the other. Which means the Dabbat Al Ard could come before or after the Sun Rising from the West. Islamic scholars interpret the Sun Rising from the West and the Dabbat Al Ard as being within 24hrs of each other, on the last day of creation. The Dabbat Al Ard Allah SWT explicitly mentions the Dabbat Al Ard in Surah An Naml Ayah 82. Allah SWT states, “Once the end is near, we shall bring out for them a beast from this Earth, who will say people did not believe in our signs”. This means the beast will be able to speak to humanity. There are authentic Hadiths about the Dabbat Al Ard but, none of them provide additional information about it. There is a Hadith in Jami At Tirmidhi, that says the Dabbat Al Ard will have the Staff of Musa AS in one hand and the Ring of Sulaiman AS, in the other. However, this Hadith is very weak thus not authentic and it is influenced by Judaic sources. Furthermore, there is another Hadith in the Musnad Ahmed that, says the Dabbat Al Ard will mark people with a symbol of who is a Muslim and who is a Kafir. But this Hadith is weak and it contradicts authentic Hadith which, specify how all the Muslims will die before the Dabbat Al Ard arrives. In addition, in the more obscure Islamic books of the past, there are outlandish accounts about the Dabbat Al Ard, such as how it is actually the resurrected She-camel of Saleh AS or the child of that She-camel. Yet in reality, we have no information from authentic books as to what the Dabbat Al Ard looks like or what its origins are. - Mentions of the Dabbat Al Ard In Christianity The Christian Book of Revelations mentions two beasts in it, the first is the Beast of the Water and the second is the Beast from the Land. Furthermore, the Book of Revelation states how the number 666 will come with the beast. The Blazing Fire This major sign is not mentioned at all in the Qur’an but, it is mentioned in the Hadith. The Prophet SAW mentioned in Hadith that, “the great fire will begin from the port city of Aden in Yemen and it will force the people to flee from it until they get to Bilad Al Sham”. This could be a miraculous event directly caused by Allah SWT or it could be a manmade calamity. One interesting characteristic of this fire is that, it will follow the people who flee and when they need to stop, it will stop to let them rest and when they need to run, it will chase them. The people who flee from the Blazing Fire will not be believers. The fire will force the remnants of mankind to run and ride on camels until they get to Bilad Al Sham. The Trumpet The final event before Qiyamah will be when Israfil AS blows the trumpet and destroys the universe. Allah SWT mentions that, the trumpet will be blown suddenly and people will not expect it. What this means is that, the people who ran from the Blazing Fire, will have all gathered in Bilad Al Sham and will be used to living there for a period, until the trumpet is blown. When the trumpet is blown, the people will all look in the direction of where the sound is coming from. The Hadiths mention that, the first person to hear it will be a man, who is busy fixing the water tank for his camels. Upon hearing the trumpet he will drop dead and the soon after all the remnants of humanity will begin dropping dead after him. Fun Trivia fact: Abdullah Ibn Masud RA was of the opinion that, the Dukhan has already occurred historically. Ibn Masud RA believed it occurred during a certain time in Makkah. But, the majority of Sahabah RA rejected this idea, as the Dukhan is linked to Judgement Day. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated that, Allah SWT will keep accepting Tawbah until one of two things happen to a person. The first is when they see the Angel of Death and the second is if they see the sun rising from the west. Fun Trivia fact: In another Hadith the Prophet SAW mentions that, “Three are the things when they appear, there is no use in a person accepting Islam, if they hadn’t already before then. The first is when the sun rises from the west, the second is if they see the Dajjal and the third is if they see the Dabbat Al Ard.” Fun Trivia fact: Muslims do not believe in numerology. So, number combinations like 786 and 666 mean nothing in Islam. Fun Trivia fact: In the context of the final signs of Qiyamah, all of the events seem to take place in Bilad Al Sham and the Middle East. Nowhere during the end times, is India, Egypt or any of the other lands outside of the Middle East mentioned. This has led some to postulate that, there are no humans left in those lands when the final signs of Qiyamah occur. Ultimately, Allahu A’alam. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated that, when the second trumpet is blown and he awakens on the Day of Judgment. Musa AS will be holding onto the throne of Allah SWT, ahead of him. The Prophet SAW then stated, he doesn’t know the reason why Musa AS is ahead of him. The Prophet SAW then postulated that, is it because Musa AS was resurrected before him, or was it because the trumpet didn’t affect him. This has led some scholars to believe that Musa AS won’t be affected by Israfil AS blowing the trumpet. Fun Trivia fact: There are indications that, some groups of people may not be affected by the trumpet. But, it is unknown who. Musa AS is seen as one such potential example of this category. Fun Trivia fact: Israfil AS is not mentioned explicitly in the Qur’an. What is mentioned in the Qur’an is that, the trumpet will be blown by someone. So Israfil AS is implied and not mentioned by name. The reason why we know Israfil AS will blow the trumpet on Qiyamah, is from Hadith literature. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated “how can I relax when Israfil AS has lifted the trumpet to his lips and he is looking at the Arsh, waiting for the command to blow”. Fun Trivia fact: There are signs of Qiyamah that occurred in the Unseen Realm. One of these is when Israfil AS (at some point) picked up the trumpet and held his breath in. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated “Israfil AS is staring at the Arsh and he hasn’t blinked for so long that, his eyes have become glazed like glass, out of fear he will miss the command.”

Slm. May Allah bless Sheikh. With regards to the sun rising from the west I believe there is a scientific explanation. I spoke to my geography lecturer who is one the leading lecturers in geography in South Africa she is a professor at the University of Johannesburg (She is a non-muslim) I asked her about the possibility of the sun rising from the west. She replied in lots of detail basically it can occur and is referred to as a polar flip. In short She said it happened before and that according to the time-line earth is actually due for one. And when this occurs it basically destroys the world, with fire, wind, water etc. So this actually fits perfectly into our narrative of the sun rising from the west just before qiyamat and the world being completely destroyed. This was something of interest, and maybe you could find out more about it!

The magnetic north and south poles have changed and this does not change whether the sun appears to rise from the west or not. Now does that matter? If you already believe Isa AS was born a virgin and revived the dead by the permission of Allah and that Rasulullah sallahualayhiwasalam demonstrated the splitting of the moon, it’s easy to accept without recourse to science, that all things are possible for Allah. Rasulullah also predicted plenty of events for the Sahaba like Suraqah Ibn Malik and the bracelets of kisrah, the romans defeating the Persians, etc.

As-Saa'ah comes UNEXPECTEDLY, thus it doesn't carry any sign about its coming. When will we learn to pay attention to Allah and His Rasul's bullet-proof aka horse's mouth Kitab alone, and not to rely on what others say about His Rasul? Actually 'As-Saa'ah' aka 'irrigation/irrigators' already have arrived. Only if we had paid attention to Allah's written Quran, we wouldn't have waited any longer.
