I don't speak a lick of Chinese, but learned a lot just by watching. The beauty of weightlifting.

basically, they are talking about kept center of gravity on your toe after the bar reached the knee, use your toe to jump

The guy in the black shirt doing the talking is Jian PIng Ma. Look him up, he has done some great things bring Olympic lifting to Iowa.

I think someone asked him about the hip hitting the bar .. what was his opinion on that? because i heard that is an american style of lifting where as the rest of the world don't really relay on the hip thrusts for cleans.

Haha, I can tell you aren't a Crossfitter since Crossfitters never joke around, that's why they are the fittest on the planet. On a more serious note, thank you so much for these videos, I was just starting to lose motivation in lifting and these have inspired me to work harder. I realized I would be a disgrace to my Chinese ancestors if I cannot snatch at least 15 kg over my bodyweight and backsquat over 160 kg.

perhaps someone caught it. Are they teaching a sort of ""jump" forward?
@Kocis1910 жыл бұрын
I think the coach is really focusing on the triple extrension and finishing the pull on your toes so that you DONT jump forward and you are extending your power vertically and keeping the bar close. this is what Im catching from 4:00 and on
@2014402janus10 жыл бұрын
Oh. Thanks for clearing that up.

is the "arm bend" actually a bend at the elbow via the bicep? or just engaging the lats? or both? And do they finish at the high thigh or the hip (same as the snatch)?
@3432989188 жыл бұрын
Russians teach full extension to lock the elbows, Chinese teach relaxed straight arms. You hit the top of rectus femoral, not ASIS.
