Chaos Blade is cool and all, but this was THE opportunity to dual wield Curved Nil Greatswords. It's what I did back in the day when I was going for the plat in Scholar; they're super fun too

As someone who played Vanilla a ton when it came out and after, the enemy differences in Scholar threw me off for the longest time lol. I also recall the dlc keys being one of the biggest changes as well, you used to be able to get the weapon upgrades even easier lol.

The below applies to the SOTFS edition.(not sure about the base game). In Dark Souls, 2 higher bonfire astetic also increases the drop rate by a flat %. Making rare items more common. NG+ cycle gives all areas +1 ascetic. Astetic 2 is +150 item discovery while 1 is zero. Astetic+3 is +250 item discovery so best to farm that. Ascetic 8/max difficulty is+ 350 item discovery but you will likely kill slower. So best to farm sunlight medals on NG+2/bonfire 3. If something has a 1% drop chance on NG then with bonfire 3 it will have 1+2.5=3.5% drop chance. Albeit many mobs can only drop their gear once. Chaos blade 160 counter dmg is pretty op makes Dark Souls 1 Chaos blade look like a paper-knife.

You only need to summon Lucatiel and Benhart three times to get the Achievements. Since you summoned them for Smelter Demon and Throne Watcher & Defender respectively, you only need to summon them two more times. Also, Flame Weapon is one of the weakest buffs in the game (weaker than a Charcoal Pine Resin). It isn't very good on elemental infusions besides fire, so you should have stuck with Sunlight Blade for Aava, Lud, and Zallen.

i did the platinum trophy a few months ago. what a pain. farming the sunlight medals and the bell guys was so tedious. and then having to go to ng ++ for those spells was insanity. farming rotten for three million was not really fun. as soon as i got 38/38 i quit. haven’t touched ds2 since lmao

I just started NG+ on my SOTFS platinum run last night. The humanity effect from the King's Crown + 3 DLC Crowns does not persist into a new NG cycle. 12 hours is absolutely insane dude nice

I started with SotFS too, and I really don't mind the enemy placement changes personally. Wild to see SO FEW falconers! But I DID feel like we got the short end of the stick here with this armor set at 21:16 - the Insolent Set, no longer sold by Agdayne. (different from the Imperious Set, which can be farmed from the big-shield-weilding dudes in the Crypt) Now it can only be obtained thru RNG. You have to light each of the sconces in the area and defeat the red-phantom that spawns in after each one WITHOUT them dropping off a cliff, and hope they drop it. They only respawn in true-NG+ as well, can't use BA's to farm em. Similarly, the Monastery Set (a copy of hte Painting Guardians Set from DS1, looks super cool) can only be obtained from a red phamton NPC that spawns in behind a painting in the Aldia's Keep hallway, and they only have A CHANCE to drop ONE piece, not the whole set, and they only appear once per true-NG, not 12 like everything else. whaaaat a grind. I appreciate mods that put these super-rare-drops back into merchants shops. Also choosing to have the covenant reward spells sold in NG+2 instead of NG+. Like why?? Anyway, not to seem like I'm complaining about it, even things we love will have some places for improvement!

When I first got dark souls remastered trilogy many years ago I went for all the achievements. I had it on ps back then and didn't have psn. So, In ds3, I spent a week just speedrunning the game for about 1 and a half - 2 hours per run to collect the single sunlight medal outside the room with dragonslayer armor. It needed 30 to get the achievement and I remember hating ds3 after it was all said and done. Good video.

Oh damn, I only have DS2 original + DLCs, not the SOFS version (So I got the one where the DLC items are given at the beginning) and I thought about buying the SOFS to get all achievements, but seeing that video made me want to try on both versions. I'm gonna have to try the Chaos Blade as well... (I'm only missing the achievements for all sorceries, all pyromancies, all miracles and all hexes on my copy, because... yeah covenants...)

Hey Yaz and audience, there is a much faster way to farm the mad warrior for the bell covenant. At the belfry sol bonfire in iron keep, if you cast the unveil miracle, it will show you if the mad warrior is there without having to climb up th ladder and checking. You can cast the miracle at the bonfire, and if it goes up, he's there. If it goes to the right, rest at the bonfire and try again until he spawns

yeah I saw a video on this, but because I can speed up the game by x10 if I wanted, It only took 1 second to go up the ladder, and 1 second to check if he was there. I was just tryna save time without having to worry about using unveil and clearing out the enemies in the area (cause apparently if you don't the spell will go towards the other enemies in the area)

You don’t actually need to join the covenants to get the achievement if I remember. You just need to have that prompt open to join and then the achievement triggers but it could be a new thing in Scholar

I know uv done the fume swords run in the past, but i recommend using the fume sword (just his straight sword) fully upgraded it has an S in dex its pretty good. so i recommend, the sun sword IS better tho

y0u could save alot of time when youre farming medals, you should not lit the 1st bonfire. kill the falconers use age feather then youll simply spawn at the starting point of the game. and if your weapon is breaking, just jump of the cliff.only if youre farming at ng2 btw
