@@se5268 Giant Lord is absolutely better. As you get infinite ascetics provided you pick up the one at the start of the war zone. Rotten is just used in these build videos because he is earlier in the game. Giant Lord gives more souls and the ring of giants which can be gavlan'd for even more souls :)

@@se5268 You should stay close to his legs and walk around while looking or hearing where he is swiping. It may also be worth using a great shield and one sword so you can focus on surviving the battle so if you are unsure of where he's attacking from you can just hold L1. Alternatively you could try writing down your current stats on a piece of paper and then respecing to a dark magic build. After that you use your note to return to normal after you aquirred all the souls you want. I'm no expert on this game, but I hope this helps. :D

The real problem about DkS2 is that it has LOTS of rough edges, it's pretty clear that it had a troublesome development, but the core gameplay, mechanics, and even the lore itself were really solid, it had its own charm that set itself apart from those directed by Miyazaki himself.

@@apophisstr6719 I’m sick of hearing this. It’s the only game in the franchise that has no major exploits. It’s the only game in the series with pc exclusive area skips since it requires capping frame rates to even do it. It has the least hit box issues, even ds3 has worse. It has the best balancing in the series. The ai is smarter. It’s the only game in the franchise to get a full remaster with improved everything. Ds2 has very little rough edges. It’s a very smooth strategy-like game. Ds1 has a lot of edges, in fact, even ds1 remastered has a lot of rough edges. Ds1 is by far one of the messiest games I have ever played in my entire life. It’s riddled with bugs, exploits, game breaking glitches, soft lock glitches, broken as fuck mechanics like stun locking, horrible ai, very little replay value, unoptimised and tedious gameplay designs like kindling and humanity. I can go on for ages. Ds2 never had a lot of rough edges, yet everyone feels the need to say “despite of its flaws” anytime someone says they like it just because the dark souls community has programmed people to preemptively defend themselves from being attacked if they don’t directly say the game is bad. It’s toxic. Ds1 was unfinished and got a lazy remaster, yet nobody talks about that. It has all the same flaws people say da2 has. And more. Point is, ds2 doesn’t have a lot of rough edges. If it did then nobody would like ds1 either. But people do like ds1. So either, they’re hypocrites or it doesn’t have a lot of flaws at all. Edit: the replies are actual cope. I don’t think any of you have really played either ds1 or ds2.

Velstad helmet is what makes te fume knight go in phase 2. If you go in the arena wearing it it triggers phase 2. The reason is that they had beef in the lore.

But the thing about Fume Knight fight, he always go into 2nd phase when he sees a Royal Aegis equipment. Whether it be the complete set or just a piece. Awesome detail from the DS2 devs tbh. Its only when wearing the helmet. Ive worn the full set and weapon without the helmet and he didnt switch to second phase immediately. The reason he does it in the video is because of the damage yaz did, he has half health so he switched to second phase

I remember one build I made once. I would start out as a classic paladin build with miracles and golden armor and would progressively shift towards a hex build that prioritized chime hexes. I also ended up using the Sacred Chime Hammer and God was this fun. I also had some sick fashion, but I deleted that character a while back. Might re-do him. It sure was a lot of fun. Anyways, great video, dude! You are so underrated it's actually unreal. Your vids are so much fun to watch. DS2 is my fav souls game and seeing be destroyed in this is somehow more enjoyable then seeing someone play it normally. I guess I like big numbers. Also, I was wondering, do you plan on making any modded content on DS2? Like playing game altering mods like Tales of Drangleic and Seeker of Fire. It's up to you really, but it could be so much fun to watch. Last thing for this comment which is already way to long, do you think you could manage to make a build that can deal good damage (like big yellow chunks) on Vendrick with none to very few giant souls? Could be interesting and entertaining.

Just as a tip when power stancing weapons: you can actually buff both at once to get some massive damage. What you need to do is have a staff/chime in your right hand, and use pine resin afterwards. So for this, you would keep your left hand hammer, switch to a staff in your right hand, and cast dark weapon to buff your left hand hammer. Afterwards, swap your staff for your right hand hammer and then use a dark pine resin, which buffs the right hand weapon. Boom, even more dark damage on both

yeah you can't unfortunately, you can apply spell buffs on infused weapons but not pine resins and you can't apply spell buffs such as dark weapon on both weapons, because you would have to swap out your weapon to hold the staff which would get rid of the spell buff

Fun thing about that Fume Knight fight. You didn't trigger the phase two by damage, you triggered it because you had Velstadt's weapon. If you have his armor or weapon equipped he starts in phase two.
